Extremely Helpful if Misplacing is Common
As I work in grocery retail, I'm constantly pulling my box cutter out to split tape, open cases and build displays. I am, however, the absolute worst when it comes to keeping track of anything on me once I've set it down somewhere. I got these when they were on sale and since I'd been eyeing them for some time I finally bought them. Since buying and utilizing them at work (mostly) I almost never lose my cutter, if anyone wants to borrow it they have to borrow me with it, and my favorite is when I'm going back and forth between using and not using my cutter - instead of putting it back in its holster every 15 seconds just to take it out for another second and back again, I will just drop it and let it swing and chill from my belt then just snatch it up when I need it again. A lot of my coworkers ask me where I got it from, if I got it from work and if they could get one too. My one only real complaint is, and this really is more my fault than anything but I had the film cutter blade exposed and my being not the smartest let it hang loose and the blade actually chewed through the loop that attaches your cutter to the leash. Totally my fault, but I guess maybe I wish that little second of thin cord was thicker or denser? Coated or strengthened somehow so it wouldn't be as easily severed should I decide not to use my brain again! Overall, a fantastic little sidekick to keep your personals close ... or fuel your inner laziness like me haha!

Exceeded Expectation.
Nice! Inexpensive (so just buy another when it eventually rips)! Use it daily, in/out of my pocket approx 50x a day - attached to a Utility Blade. It's going on several months, and even though I have got it caught on objects many times - and stretched to its limit - it has not broken!

Works great 99% of the time. Sometimes may unclip.
I've been using it for a year now, it is good. I bought it with intention of attaching my phone to it, so I can safely take pictures over bridges or water, and maybe mild thief deterrent. -Very easy to set up. -Not very often, but sometimes I notice that the metal clip unclips itself from my phone while in my pocket. It may not happen with lighter objects though. I wish the clip had stronger spring, or maybe plastic clip. This is rather important feature, which brings it down to 4 stars. -It doesn't take up much space when retracted, but stretches far, maybe a bit too far for my preference (I use it with my smartphone, tied to my belt loop. If dropped, the phone will hit the ground). -It can also function as a crappy temperature gauge. I noticed that when it gets really cold outside (near 0C) it stiffens when stretched out. It springs back after a minute when I get back to warmth. -It can be used as an impromptu "head (body) lamp" with a phone. I usually have it tied to my belt loop. I then can turn on the light on my smartphone, sling it over my neck, and adjust the stretch a bit. Good for pitch dark outhouses. -I've forgotten to unclip it from my trousers few times before sending it through washer and dryer. No issues.

If you work someplace you have to open boxes a lifesaver
It's great I've used it for three different jobs and it helps because you don't sit down the box cutter and lose it and have to look for it for 15 minutes just put it on this and stick it in your pocket it's always there ready I would set it down so I can put the product away or put the box away and then I had to look for it it was crazy so I did this I happen to wear a pair of pants it is perfect to go in the pocket clipped on me it saves me so much time at work

Great little coil strap
Needed a way to hold a handicap card to my bulky car mirror - and this worked great! Cut the ends off and twisted the coiled strap together with no difficulty. It is elastic to get it over the mirror with all that electronic stuff behind it and it is easy to hang and remove. Not the intended use for this strap, but it really worked well for me.

Cost effective light weight solution
I purchased this without an identified need. Upon inspection, the item would be well suited to supporting anything that does not exceed an ink pen or a super lightweight knife. Not a knock, just a fact. It's minimalist, literally the thing is on par with the plastic desk pin cables at the bank. Not for supporting anything heavy as it will not recoil even under light weight. But it is a leash that shortens it's length when it is slacked. Have not put it to use as I don't carry specialty safety cutters. My knives all have kydex sheaths, belt clips or at a minimum paracord lanyards. Kind of bought it because it was under 3 bucks, I had Amazon points to spare, and figured eventually I would want to anchor something near a workstation to keep it at the ready. Currently thinking, a marker (cap only) at the 2 x 3 foot welding table, dry erase pin, letter opener keeper sort of things. UPDATE: Just purchased a Pacific Handy S5R Safety Cutter. This cable is perfect for that lightweight multipurpose tool, and now actually selling for less than 2 bucks.

Small leash for packs, pants, shorts, shirts, whatever.
This is a great way to keep small knives, etc., from disappearing from my pack when hiking, skiing, whatever. Easy detaches and then attaches to pants, shorts, shirts, whatever. Not sure why I didn't think of it sooner, so I'm sharing my newfound wisdom.
