I have updated to four stars.UPDATE: The seller contacted me and shipped me a replacement unit. I have been using the replacement for a number of days now. The new unit has not failed so far. Updated my review to three stars based on excellent support and performance of the new unit.I've been enjoying it since mid July. I have only used the HDMI port for the external monitor on my MacBook Pro. Today, the picture on the monitor (purchased at the same time, BTW) was intermittently cutting out. Quite annoying. Fortunately my employer recently provided an HDMI adapter from another manufacturer. I tried it with my computer and monitor. No video cut outs.I have now switched back and forth between this adapter and the one from my employer. This one cuts in an out, the other does not. Seems like this adapter has now failed me after about 1.5 months. I bought another brand to replace it.

This adapter has been the perfect solution to my lack of input space on my new Dell laptop. I didn't realize the new lightweight, and less expensive computer came with fewer HDMI and USB ports, and I'm always shuffling devices so I can get my work done. A friend recommended checking these adapters out, and I'm really happy with this one.It connects very easily, has high HDMI resolution, and the adapter can show 2 displays when connecting: HDMI & VGA, or DVI & VGA. It's compact size fits nicely into my laptop bag, so I can take the adapter with me when I go to the office or traveling. My friend has a macbook and this adapter worked perfectly for him, so much so that he ordered one too.I've also used this to connect my laptop to my TV so I can stream shows, and the quality is fantastic. With so many devices becoming smaller and more compact, the need for USB/HDMI/DVI/VGA adapters is going to continue to grow, and this one is the prefect solution.

I'm using this with an HP Spectre x360 13" laptop. It will provide me with a secondary desktop (Windows 10) via HDMI but I discovered it cannot play back 24 fps video without dropping frames. Bear in mind I'm using it with video editing software. Seems like the adapter doesn't have the bandwidth. Video playback is fine using the laptop's built-in display so I'm thinking the adapter is at fault. I'll have to buy a different one to compare against.

Doesn't work for MacBook Pro!Bought this for my MacBook Pro 2017 w/Touch Bar. HDMI connection is finicky, I try to connect it to a projector during meetings, and the screen constantly flickers and is not visible. When I connect to my monitor, the HDMI connection comes in and out. When I use the standard Apple USB C to HDMI connector, I have no problems.

It's not very durable (pulled apart after a few uses), but I was able to piece it back together and it does the job

This stops working all the time! There is nothing more frustrating when you need your external monitor for your workspace, and the adapter decides not to work. So frustrating. I've troubleshot everything and I have found no reason for it to stop working randomly.

For those who trying connect 2 display, "not mirrored but extended", it will not work. Seller should clear this on his post. This adapter does only mirror on your mac book pro.

Unfortunately the DVI connector doesn't work with an Apple 23" LED Cinema Display DVI-D single link.
