I already had one WD MyCloud and set up this one to mirror the content of the first NAS unit to the second for redundancy. Works great. Able to set static IP addresses, create shares and set permissions.

Item is defective, I order this item and had to rush out on deployment for three months (I am Military), I returned and finally was able to hook this up to get started. There is a red light that immediately turn on and never stop blinking. It would not boot up, I tries several times. I tried to return this to the seller, but I could not return this because item was over the 30 days, and I could not find a link to notify the seller. I am out of a lot of money for a product that doesn't work. Very disappointing

Loved this device so much, I purchased 3 more. Relied on them for work, media and personal storage. Easily accessible and smooth navigation for years. Then out of nowhere one crashed, then two. Couldn’t get anything off the disks, even with professional help. Purchased a larger WD drive to migrate and did it just in time as the final one crashed as well. Great product, while it works. Support from WD lacking real customer help and solutions.

This was so simple to install. It took about 5 minutes install, setup and then be able to copy pictures, movies onto the server from my computer and then view or watch them ether on my computer or TV.

Easy to setup, and reliable thus far.

Hace aproximadamente tres años que lo compré, todo es muy bueno, la interfaz es muy intuitiva para configurar los usuarios y particiones; configurar el Time Machine de Apple es súper sencillo si se encuentran en la misma red. Puedes crear tu usuario en WD y acceder remotamente a tus archivos. El problema es que el dispositivo de red dejó de funcionar, hace un par de meses, el LED se quedó estático y pensé que se trataba de una actualización; sin embargo los días pasaron y seguía igual. Intenté muchas cosas para que volviera a estar visible, busqué información en los foros de WD sin obtener resultados positivos. Finalmente contacté a servicio y confirmaron que la tarjeta de red tenía problemas y que no había solución. Mi descontento es; ¿cómo es posible que no haya solución o reparación para este artículo? Lo más que pudieron ofrecer es un software para intentar recuperar mis datos. Creo que este es un problema conocido en esta línea de productos y me decepciona que el soporte sea tan limitado y la vida del producto tan corta.

I feel like I have thrown hundreds of dollars down the crapper!!! I had tried to get help with the western digital NAS using their how to video,s on YouTube and found they weren't updated in years and didn't reflect the new software. Tried emailing the company with no help. I should have purchased a Drobo from the beginning. Really a cool paperweight with a blinking light.

User interface good as noted above. I used YouTube to find how to modify The UI to include the hibernate command. The command was in the UI code But commented out????
