Perfect and exactly what I was looking for.

I had a similar masher but lent it out to someone who wanted one so I thought I would just gift it and get a new one for myself. I was happy to find this one. It’s actually better than the one I gifted! It’s just slightly oval making it a good size for the pan and pot I typically use. It mashes without much effort making it easy to use. It also seems sturdy and will last for years.

I've used this masher about 20 times, and it's worked great--better than I had originally expected--each time. The masher piece locks into place very well, very solidly. The design is beautiful, because I can collapse the masher and easily store it with my other kitchen utensils, standing up in a round basket. The size seems pretty standard, and I've used it to not only mash foods, but also to blend dough when I didn't have mixer. I was shocked, because it worked beautifully for that! In fact, I sometimes still use it instead of my mixer. I highly recommend this masher!
