We need an inverter for medical equipment when my wife is in the vehicle. The equipment has battery backup but need the batteries when we get where were going. The machine is only 2.5 amps the most i would require is 3.5 amps which should be easy for a 700 watt inverter. I tried about 4 different ones and others would overheat because the fan wouldn't stay on. Or other issues. This one works as it is intended to work. It has been used approximately 5 hrs. now no issues. I have an older inverter in my truck that I have had for years and I can't really understand why that old one never has an issue but all the newer models I was trying did? It's a quality issue of course. We used to just use my truck when we needed a 110 source but life changes. The truck is hader to get in and the 110 source is needed most of the time now. The 12 volt won't charge and run some equipment. Sorry for the long post

I'll adjust this if things change but I bought to hook up inline with a DC light in my camper just to run a box fan when not hooked to shore power. I tested via the 12v plug on my truck to run, first a 20 inch box fan. Nothing but red lights. 2nd maybe a 10 inch small fan. Neither would work. Switched to the alligator clips and it ran my fan. Not sure output on a cig lighter but they should maybe be 75 to 85 watts to run the bigger fan. Not sure why it wouldn't support this. It's late. Hopefully tomorrow when I hook up to the wires above my bed light I don't run into the same issue otherwise it will be one hot weekend sleeping with no fan. Fingers crossed!! Update: got it hooked up and will not run my box fan off the power from the 12v light. However I can run the small fan and a clock charging my phone. Pretty disappointing. I'm no electrical guy but maybe if I had a smaller inverter it wouldn't call for so much startup power and red light out. Hope this helps any camper folks. Just didn't want to run dedicated power and open up a brand new insulated floor for dedicated lines to this.

I used this inverter to power a small refrigerator. Started the compressor without a hitch. I almost sent it back when I saw the dc input studs. They are only an inch apart. Way too easy to short out the battery. I decided to use it anyway. Very careful to insulate the positive terminal with electrical tape before attaching the the negative cable. When I started the unit I was happy to find that the fan started only after the inverter started to warm up. The problem was however that the fan did not stop after hours of no load operation. Cycling the on off switch reset the fan which didn’t start until the inverter was put under load agin. The fan is too loud. I wouldn’t buy it agin.

This converter is strong enough to power the battery charger for my power wheelchair ♿️ and I don't have to run extension cords to charge the battery, it can charge while I'm driving!!! This makes things much easier for an old handicapped man !!!
