Great fit

Okay this is a decent looking and well fitting comfortable mouth guard, my son has no issues with this playing rugby. However the process of moulding it involves putting it in boiling water and then into their mouth after only 10 seconds!!!! So its far too hot and when its cool enough you can't mould it against the teeth properly.

As ever, OPRO are the go-to for gumshields. I’ve used them for probably 15yrs now ever since I lost one I had one fitted by a dentist and have never looked back. It might be that the technology has gotten better for home-fitting in that time (I’m talking a while back for the dentist fit) but I’ve only had to replace my OPRO twice in that time and they’ve both been excellent and long-lasting. The reason I had opted for a dental fit the first time was being born with a cleft palate and having a couple of out-of-line teeth, but the OPRO has accommodated them fine. Main sport was field hockey for the longest while but boxing the last nine years. Brilliant for both (especially being able to speak and actually be heard in hockey). This is my first gold version as a step-up from silver and on first experience is worth the upgrade - closer fit and feel and slightly easier breathing. Worth mentioning that at 5’9” and 67kg fighting weight (and a slightly small head), I fit the youth size perfectly. I know it states “up to 10yrs” but I wouldn’t say I’m tiny, so worth bearing in mind size-wise.

Bought two of these and just cannot get a decent fit at all. Wish I’d bought cheaper as I’d stupidly thought the more expensive price tag would mean a better fit. Unfortunately watching the videos / following guidance carefully and even having a relatively patient / compliant (!) eight year old still led to a poor fit. It won’t stay in my son’s mouth at all and re-molding (still following the instructions perfectly) seems to just spread the mess around. Maybe our kettle too hot / teeth too mishapen?! Asked dentist for advice even but he would not make a custom guard for this age group when their teeth are moving so much and still falling out. Bought for rugby. Will stick with cheaper options from Sports Direct in future if it’s just going to be a poor fit that falls out immediately anyway. Fast delivery, well packaged and nice designs to choose from at least.

Was hopeful this would be a good replacement for my 10 year-old. Went through the very clear instructions, with to the second timing. But unlike more expensive ones, we couldn’t get this to stay in place when he opened his mouth. So it was pretty uncomfortable to wear. Might just be a weird month shape (he has a slight overbite). But wasn’t that satisfactory.

Excellent quality and easy to fit. We have purchased Opro gold before and find it to be best in terms of fit. Really good snug fit.

My 7 year old son is getting ready for his first sanctioned boxing match and this mouthpiece is perfect! He has used other brands for football and Jiu jitsu but this one is by far his go-to- and the one he says is the most comfortable and easy to breathe with. He LOVES that it's black and gold, and matches his competition uniform for his first upcoming bout. 🥇💛
