Great waterproof boot
I am not an avid hiker and this was my first time buying and wearing any type of hiking boot. I wanted something not too expensive as an introduction boot to hike in Yosemite. I got this boot in a 9 when I’m usually an 8.5 per the recommendation to size up. The fit felt good I have a narrow/skinny feet so I did feel I had wiggle room in my toes but not enough where my feet was sliding everywhere. I did just wear regular nike dry fit socks because that’s all I had but I bet hiking thicker socks would have felt better. After walking/ hiking in Yosemite all day in the wet/snowy floor these boots held up well. My feet did not suffer at all and I was very comfortable wearing them for the first time for several hours. I didn’t have any blisters or pain which was nice since I didn’t break them in at all! They had great grip in the slippery wet snow and I felt good ankle support and confident hiking uphill and downhill in these boots! funny enough my husband showed up in regular mesh Nike tennis shoes and he thought i was doing the most buying these boots but we show up and it was wet and snowy everywhere and he had to buy his brown boots at the gift shop in yosemite (in the second pic) or else his feet would have been soaking!! now he knows listen to your wife 🤣 great boot!

MVP On My Iceland Packing List 🥾
❤️ What I Loved: These boots deserve every bit of hype they get. After seeing the Merrell Moab 3s recommended over and over, I finally gave in and bought them for a summer trip to Iceland. Best decision ever. We hiked constantly—waterfalls, streams, rocky trails, glaciers, and enough slippery boulders to make me question my life choices. Meanwhile, my feet? Living their best life. No blisters. No soreness. No complaints. Not once did I finish a hike thinking, “I can’t wait to take these boots off.” In fact, they were so comfortable that they became my everyday shoes for the entire trip. The waterproofing is the real deal. We hiked through streams and behind waterfalls, and my feet stayed completely dry. While other people were dealing with wet socks and regret, I was happily stomping around without a care in the world. And the grip? Incredible. There were moments on slick rocks where I genuinely felt these boots earned their paycheck. The traction gave me so much confidence on terrain that could have easily turned into a blooper reel. 💡 Good to Know Listen to the reviews and size up half a size. I normally hate sizing up, but it was exactly the right call. With the extra room, I could comfortably wear one pair of wool socks and still have space for a second pair when temperatures dropped. Even with two pairs, my feet stayed comfortable and secure. Also, while these boots aren’t the cheapest option, they’re a great example of “buy once, cry once.” My cousin brought a less expensive pair of boots that looked almost identical. By the end of the trip, she had wet feet, cold feet, and sore feet. I had none of those problems. ✅ Would I Buy It Again? Without a second thought. These were the only shoes I brought to Iceland, and they handled everything from glacier hikes to sightseeing days. Comfortable, waterproof, warm, supportive, and cute enough to wear with every outfit I packed. If you’re debating whether they’re worth the money, consider this your sign. Stop reading reviews and add them to your cart. 😉🥾🇮🇸

Good fit and well made.
I was trying to match shoes from Merrell that I bought 15 years ago and this shoe matched. I have narrow feet and these are my indoor shoes. You do need to get a half size larger - my size is 9 and I ordered 9 1/2 - they fit perfectly. These shoes are well made and very comfortable. Not too heavy and good tread so I do not have balance issues. Made in Vietnam which is an issue for me but the Merrell brand - including the interior was great. Easy to get on and off and lace up good and tight. Would recommend this shoe.

Glad I bought
I did my research before buying these shoes because every pair of yard shoes/hiking boots I have bought, have worn out on the sole within a year. Plus waterproofing caused my feet to smell. The Moab 3 was one of 2 highest recommended for endurance and safety for support, I'm 68. First day i wore them all day in the garden and never once had hot or tired feet. Maybe I paid 3x as much as i ever have on shoes similar to these but am convinced it was well spent. Try these. If you spend time doing activities outside, you should reward yourself with shoes worthy of your active lifestyle! Im a miser with money and feel NO guilt for this purchase.

I couldn't be more pleased!!
♡They're sturdy w/ good ankle support, which was ONE of my main reasons (besides Merrel's rep & quality) for buying them;post a ankle break. The support does push into my break (moellior bone) a bit,but there's enough cushioning to offset any major pain. They have some breathability, which is MAJOR, for me! (feet overheat easily). The traction and stability worked very well in some treacherous woods, approx 4 months post ankle break W/lightweight brace on!! Overall they're super comfortable! They seem to be very good quality! I thought I'd be disappointed w/the color choice in my size? Mainly for dirt/scuffing reasons; but with proper waterproofing? They're fine and match everything! Sizing is TTS with enough room and give for winter socks. ♡ Only minor issue was on my break ankle, the top ankle part buckled a tad on the inside, but in fairness? I had a hard plastic, stabilizing brace on that helped cause that; it doesn't effect wearability and isn't noticeable, but it is weird that it won't mold back to original condition. Overall? Well worth the money for me! P.s. I'm NOT a major hiker.

Good waterproof boots, run small, order 1/2 size up
Wore these boots all over Scotland this summer. Feet stayed 100% dry in the rain on pavement, rocky beaches and in a RIB (rigid inflatable boat). Very good ankle and arch support. Didn't need to break them in. They were comfortable from first wearing. Only regret is not going up a 1/2 size because they do run slightly small. Fit ok with thin socks but in cold weather with thicker socks would definitely size up.

Was going to return it, but it grew on me.
Hi, my Keen Targhee 2 hiking boots got snagged and I needed a replacement. I wanted a sturdy boot with good support. I needed less sturdiness, but a lot of support and impact absorption, as I had injured my ankle and needed some "give" and not something so snug. I heard these Merrills were super popular and with less sturdiness and ankle support, exactly what I needed at this time, so gave the Merrills a try. I bought granite as everything else sold out in my size (8 wide) around the holidays. When I first looked at the Color granite, it looked "boring sneakers" (especially with the Blue jeans I wear) and not my typical Brown ones that just screamed "hiking boots" with more flash...what I usually wear. These Granite colored ones looked like very low key sneakers, the other Merrill Colors scream more of typical hiking boot, most especially the Brown ones like "Bungee cord" or "Braken Purple". anyway, I was going to need these boots, most especially to wear on my other uninjured foot to provide some rock solid support and stability. What really pleased me was unlike the Keens, these were so much lighter, almost like I was wearing nothing at all. They are waterproof, and really worked out when I was watering the plants on the patio with a leaky water hose. Because they provided the support, grip (the special Verbam sole did not slip at all anywhere!!), were very lightweight, easy on my overworked foot, and I had to wear them everywhere I walked, I appreciated that the Colors were more muted. So, it worked out well. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased. These are great everyday "shoes" (hiking boots with give on the ankle, that looked like GREAT SHOES with no slippage, great absorption of Impact, and lots of stability), I appreciated being able to wear them everywhere and it provided all the stability, lightweight, waterproof, non-slippage, and Impact absorption. I needed for my overworked...one working foot, as my other foot healed in a cast. I felt no hesistation using these with crutches all the time. After over a month of using the boot so much, it still feels as good as day one. This speaks to the quality of craftmanship. Incredible. Mind you, I never used these boots on the trail. I'm looking forward to in hopefully a few weeks. I will probably walk on a flat trail with minimal rocks, and I'm sure these will work out and be perfectly fine. Thank you Merrill for such fine footwear.

+ & -'s over my 2015 pair of Merrell Moab
COLOR - although I couldn't tell from the online pictures, the newer Granite Moab (not the newest model) are the same color as my pair purchased 12/2015. The 2015 laces held up very well - still usable, good 😄 The 2026 laces are a darker color, I actually like the new look for this boot. SIZE - I usually wear 8.5 med; had purchased 9 in 2015 bc that was all that was available that day at Dick's Sporting Goods and they fit. My feet are weird, the R foot is 1/4" longer so if shoes are made with the objective of minimizing/conserving materials overseas the R one may not fit me 😫. These new ones, however, feel roomy in the toe box that the old ones. Like, even too roomy. This is a factor I'll consider when I decide whether to keep them. QUALITY - obviously the old pair held up very well - 10 years - washed once in the washing machine (took laces out), and once (also took laces out) with a power hose. I had to finally give in and get a new pair when my heels started hurting and I realized I was gonna give myself plantar fasciitis in the worn down heels (I overpronate). See picture. +NEW HEEL DESIGN I see signs that the new pair is both better. But also, they had it right in 2025 on the lacing system, and now they've dropped what was working very well for some reason. Why break it when it was top notch?? On the plus side, the heels are cushioned with air, and the heel height (and heel build) is clearly higher - I tried one old on my L foot and one new on my R foot and experienced an imbalance in heel height. (Pictures) - New pair has less durable Lacing system. The old pair has a extra durable suede stitching all the way from the heel to the final (and 1"+ setback) lacing loop -- this is where I double looped my lace at the bend in my front ankle. There is NO suede shoe stitching on this lace loop at all, and it is not placed back either - this will not be as comfortable for hiking, nor as durable. I tried just skipping that loop completely, but that didn't feel right either... it felt like something was missing. So, that is either a manufacturing mishandling/hiccup or a design fail. (Pictures) + TREAD After 10 years, I had pretty much worn all the vibrant off key contact points on the soles of my old pair. I do see traction improvements to the design in those key areas of the new pair. (Picture) + STITCHING and back ankle material appears slightly upgraded. -/+ slight changes to back ankle pull and other Merrill brand detailing- neither and + or - about that.

Endlich! Toll!

Returned
Really liked the look of these! Disappointed they were uncomfortable. I have narrow feet and they were squeezing my pinky toe. The bed was just awkward as well. Returned them.

order shoes at least a month in advance to accommodate for delays.
I had ordered Merrel Moab 3 shoes on 11 march, 2025 in good faith, they were supposed to be delivered on 21 march, 2025. I needed them for a trek for which I left on 24, march 2025. The shoes were delivered on 28 march, 2025, after I had left. Until I left there was no communication from the Seller regarding a delivery date. So now I don't need these shoes and would like to return them and I had been given a ten day window in which these shoes could be returned. This window of return should have been open until yesterday 7 april, 2025. But when I opened the return window yesterday on 7 april, 2025, it said that the time to return expired on 28 march, 2025 which was the day of delivery. In any case I was on a trek at that time. Anyway I couldn't have returned them earlier as I was in Arunachal Pradesh and not within telephonic or mobile range. I only reached home on the morning of 6 april, 2025. If you look at my earlier telephone records you will see that I requested several times that the shoes be delivered by the 23rd. But the seller refused to confirm any delivery dates. Now I have no use for these expensive shoes. Therefore it is not my fault that they were sent too late! And I was trying to return them in the ten day return window period which was specified by them. They never mentioned anywhere that the shoes had to be returned the very same day. Also please note that the shes were not sent in a box but in a plastic bag. It seems a bit unfair to send such expensive shoes so shabbily. the insole of the right shoe is damaged slightly. I have been wearing Merrel shoes for years and will continue to wear them but will think twice about buying from this seller. Unfortunately I am feeling very let down and unhappy. I do hope that the kind people at amazon can help me again.

Very well made
I bought these for a trip where I did a lot of hiking in the woods. I’m so happy with them. I’m a size 6 and they fit perfectly. They are really well made and I didn’t have to wear them for awhile to get comfortable in them as soon as I put them on they felt really comfortable. I didn’t mind the price since I knew they should last a long time and now that I’ve used them I know they will.
