Great product, long life, quality tool
- The build quality is good - Battery life is excellent and allows for a lot of cuts. Cut down 6 pcs 3/4” plywood with a range of 12- 23 cuts per sheet and still had over 50% battery. - Track system works great and a game changer for cutting plywood - 45 degree cuts down 8’ worked well with saw and track. Cut roughly 16 pcs 8’ long - Saw and track work well together and allow for quick accurate work. - Track connection is easy and lines up well. I used a 4’ level ( or any straight edge) to ensure 2 sections align. Very simple, accurate, and quick - Battery - key note Makita doesn’t gouge you on replacement batteries (if needed). Other brands significantly overcharge. This is a key item to note as we buy these tools for a lifetime. Overall an excellent product and the battery system work with all Makita tools.

This saw makes me feel much more confident in my ability to tackle projects
Why did I wait so long? I know there are many other track saws but I'm married to Makita. I have a bunch of other Makita tools and I'm very happy with them - so when it came to a track saw that definitely influenced my choice here. About the saw itself...it's magic. When I make cuts with it they look so straight you'd think a robot did it. I had a big project to cut over 100 sheets of plywood and so I decided I'd take the plunge. This saw is just so cool - it takes up much less space than a really nice table saw but with clever work holding you can get amazing results with it. Would I like a really nice table saw with a huge cast iron table? Yes I would. Would I use it enough to warrant the space and money that it would require, no I wouldn't. That's where the track saw comes in. She's a beauty, and using her makes my work look like I have more skill than I actually do. I'm sure the other track saws are awesome, maybe better in this way or that. But if you have Makita and you are trying to decide between this or a Festool, don't bother. Put your money here and the cash you save put towards a Makita backpack dust collector or something. Aftermarket track support is available as well, because the track is the same pattern as Festool. It means you can afford to purchase more track pieces in different sizes. I have four 55 inch tracks and one 39 inch track. I also have the track clamps that Makita sells and those are quick to use and they work great with the tracks. The last accessories that I just purchased are these two items: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZVLCTQJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005NMUC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. For ANY brand of track saw one thing to keep in mind is that you will want to buy a spare blade immediately. The chance that you'd be able to get a 20mm arbor blade that fits in the saw from a big box store is...unlikely. I accidentally decided to try and cut through a metal saw horse last week and I found out the hard way that these saws don't take a 5/8 arbor circular saw blade (no brand of track saw does from what I can tell). So if you are on a job and you have a time constraint, get a spare blade. If you do end up getting this saw and you want to cut big sheets of stuff, build yourself a table to hold your work piece and also consider building something to hold the pice that will want to fall off after the cut. You don't want to have a beautiful cut right to the end and have the weight of the cut piece create a tear out. But yeah, she's a gem of a saw :-)

For $400ish dollars, it will change the way you work.
This is my favorite tool of the year. I'm a DIY'r building a cabin .The precision of cuts is amazing and really changed how id do finished carpentry. You can see the type of materials in the pictures. There are features I haven't even discovered yet. Every time I need it to do something, I find the feature. Beveled buts, yes. Blade that it comes with is also a high quality finish blade.

I should have done it sooner!!!!
I should have bought this years ago. Make cutting 4x8 sheets down fast and accurate. 10 out of 10 The battery life is outstanding. The quality is top notch. The weight of the saw is not bad at all. I also bought 2 55” tracks. This setup makes accurate cuts a walk in the park. I looked at a lot of track saws I feel the value for money is spot on.

Indispensable for Large Sheet Goods. Check Saw Base Calibration!
I've had this Makita XPS01PTJ track saw for a few years now. Mainly, I have used it for breaking down sheets of plywood. As others have said, it undoubtedly improves this process versus the options. To briefly detail some positives, this Makita track saw is powerful enough to cut 3/4" plywood easily and it has good battery life. It cuts cleanly and can make a shallow scoring cut to prevent veneer tear out if desired. It has a multitude of useful features which can be found in the item's online description. It is capable of highly precise cuts. I see it as an excellent compliment to my table saw for sheet goods that are too big to safely cut on my table saw. The only negative is, as I received the saw, some cuts varied as much as 1/32" although I was sure that I aligned the track properly. I found that there were a couple of things that I needed to adjust to tune up the saw. First, the base was not aligned perpendicular to the saw blade. There are two hex set screws under the saw base which needed adjustment to square it. Secondly, the front of the base was not square to the blade. I made the adjustment by loosening four Phillips head screws and turning the base until the front was square with the blade. The instruction manual states that the saw is calibrated from the factory but mine was not. There is no mention of squaring the front of the base to the saw blade in the manual. It also implies that there is only one hex head screw for adjusting the blade perpendicular to the saw base. I recommend checking your saw's alignment before using it so that your splinter guard is properly trimmed.

So Awesome.
18 years of experience building custom cabinetry and furniture. The tool: Very impressive out of the box. I like the case though the insert that keeps the saw from sliding around inside seems a bit cheap. May or may not be a problem for hauling it to jobsites, but I suspect it should be fine. I may eventually make my own foam insert but I doubt it will be needed. I did find that it was not tuned to make a perfect 90 degree cut so I spent about 10 minutes fine tuning before I locked it down for a perfect 90. Not a huge deal, fairly common with tools out of the box. If it weren't for these 2 minor issues I would have rated this at 5 stars. I also bought two 55" Makita brand tracks, track clamps, and a track square by TSO which I can't recommend enough. These have made a perfect combination. Glides effortlessly on the Makita brand tracks. Plywood edges are crisp and flawless (even on cheap plywood and cross grain, Melamine and laminates) thanks to the option to start with a score cut. Very powerful with no bogging. I've also used it to establish true straight cuts on store bought hardwoods. I hooked mine up to dust collection and it works great, not perfect (I wasn't expecting perfection on this one). One thing I haven't done yet but I know I eventually will: use it to pre-rip full sheets of plywood in the vendor's parking lot to make it easier to transport by myself. I'll bring some 3/4" strips to slide between the sheets and go to town! When cutting at my workbench I just throw down a bunch of 4"x4" blocks that I cut from scrap 3/4" ply to protect my bench top. I've read that going from a 45 degree angle cut back to a 90 can be difficult but I haven't tried it yet so I can't speak on it. For how I use this saw and for how I intend to use this saw (primarily 90 degree cuts) I couldn't be happier. It's just awesome and I can't wait to use it again!

Changed my WW life!
Until recently I've been a user of a certain green brand of tools I've bought from the orange bix box store. I was frustrated by their lack of power and a variety of other issues. Perhaps upgrading them to better versions might have helped, but every tool I used left me feeling like there had to be a significant difference between my tools and the more expensive options out there. A few years ago I had the good fortune to use a coworker's Makita screwdriver. I was really impressed by how smooth it operated and how well the torque stop worked without overtightening. I've never quite forgotten the impression I had and I've recently started upgrading some of my tools as I've gotten serious about some woodworking and home improvement projects. I short time back I bought the driver and power screwdriver, and I love them both. Now I bought this circular saw along with a couple of Makita saw tracks, and they have revolutionized my woodworking experience. The saw has an abundance of power and I've been really impressed with how long the batteries last. Apparently having 2 batteries makes a huge difference! No longer do I have to wonder how many times the saw will jam up and stop when I'm cutting a 4'x8' piece of plywood. I can make a full 8' cut without any issues. And the guide tracks are so much easier to use and more accurate than the old jigs that I built myself. I can't say enough good things about this saw and the other Makita tools I've bought. They aren't cheap, but I highly recommend them to anyone that can afford them!

Justo lo que esperaba
Muy buena herramienta, refinada, potente, se limita un poco a los laminados y contrachapados, pero para puertas también es muy útil, ya tiene años en el mercado pero sigue siendo muy eficiente
