CRAFTSMAN Tool Box, Lockable, 16 in., Red/Black (CMST16901)

The Craftsman is a good quality product both sturdy and hard wearing. This box is medium sized idel for house or office use, large enough to carry most hand tools. It features a tray and two compartments in the lid for smaller items. The box is very light weight and comes with a metal latch for secure closure. I am sure this box is durable enough for everyday usage. I tend to use these medium sized tool boxes for storage for my hobby tools such as my airbrushes, hoses and tools keeping them safe were I can find them. The price is good too.

I really needed my own toolbox. Us ladies know how far that goes when you present your partner with a Honey Do List.I collected lots of tools over the years and kept them in a Beverly Hills Hotel cookie container.I was able to put in a claw hammer, a regular hammer and a rubber mallet along with all sorts of pliers, screwdrivers, several allen keys of all sizes and measuring tapes.It was difficult to find a "woman" type, compact tool box, but then again Amazon has everything. Not sure about the reviews saying the lid doesn't open all the way. I overstuffed mine and did not have a problem it opening or closing on my hand.Plus it was made in the USA.

This isn't for the construction worker and anyone in the trades, but for a DIY-er, it's perfect. It's made outta plastic but it's stiff and sturdy and the compartments are spacious for what it is.

This review will center on the fact that I got this tool box to contain the battery powered reciprocating saw I recently obtained to replace my aging Porter Cable one. Unlike that saw, this one did not come with a case to house the combination of the saw itself, 2 batteries, charger, and blades, so I purchased this tool box on Amazon to solve that problem. Before doing so, I measured the box that it came in and transferred those measurements to those advertised by the Craftsman supplier.When I got the box, I was disappointed in the fact that so much of the box tapers in at the bottom instead of being square straight down all the way around. This feature prevented the tool from laying down flat and I had to tilt it up at an angle to rest against the inside on the box. Then, by carefully placing the charger in the pocket of the open trigger area of the saw, I can close the lid once the hump of the charger clears the recessed area of the small parts container built into the lid. To complete the setup, I then placed the 2 batteries into the area created by the down section of the saw and I got everything to fit thus allowing me to just close the lid into the recessed pocket on the perimeter of the lid and lock it with the big clasp.Since the box is very flexible, it will bulge out if enough tools are placed in it to overload its carrying capacity. The clasp is big and sturdy, but the lid must fit squarely onto the lip of a non bulging box for it to snap shut. Also, I might add, i don’t like the unnecessary recessed pockets built into the top of such a small box and wish the box case itself were much more rigid and roomy.As stated, the handle is big, sturdy, and is large enough to accommodate my oversized hands. In conclusion, since I am not carrying a heavy load of bulky tools in it that will tend to deform the lip of box, it will serve well for my purposes as long as I am careful to arrange all the saw components properly after each use.

it was a christmas gift. spacious under tray. perfect size for carrying arpound the house of outside or on. the go.

Used this to build a gun cleaning kit rather than hold tools. Works perfect and has a lot of room and storage for cleaning supplies and some smaller gunsmithing tools. The small containers on the lid are pretty handy for small spare parts as well.

Okay for the price. Needed a container for my plumbing tools and supplies. This is the right size. A little bit flimsy but adequate.

I like that it is light weight and just enough storage room for my basic every day tools. Example, hammer, screw drivers, measuring tape, pliers etc. It's small enough to fit under my kitchen sink and out of my "junk drawer"!
