Household Essentials Hand-Woven Paper Rope Basket with Lid and Liner, Dark Brown Stain

I had been looking for baskets like these for a long time. I have some blank CDs and such that I wanted to store in my office. I could not, for the life of me, find one that I thought looked really cool, but sophisticated. I found this on Amazon. I opened the box and knew I had found the basket for me. I have it sitting on top of my piano--right out in the open, no less,......and am proud to do that. It is lined with material that is expensive looking, the basket itself is very sturdy and the lid is solid.. I love this and plan to buy more of them. I have had this for about a year and keep thinking how nice it would be to have some of them sitting on my bookshelves throughout my home to put old family photos in or Christmas ornaments from family in at Christmas time or better yet, put some of my small, very antique books in for people to see and read. I live in one of those neighborhoods where it is expected that you will keep your house in good shape and looking good both inside and out. So, I would not have this basket or anything in my house (not even my backyard) that wasn't up to expectations!. In fact, when I moved here, I made so many trips to Goodwill that they knew me personally! I had a lot of junk (and that isn't an exaggeration) to get rid of starting with the shed in my backyard! It was ugly, but worth it.(Please don't judge me!) So, if you are on the fence about this basket and you are wondering if it is worth ordering, I would say to order it. I hope Amazon keeps this basket in stock for some time to come, because I will definitely be back for more.

My partner and I purchased this item for use as a bread box. He bakes homemade bread, and we could not find one single existing breadbox for purchase that could accommodate even a modest-sized baguette (which is a tragedy since he is a Frenchman!).Our logic: you don't want something airtight for bread, as it'll trap moisture and mold, but you also want to keep out most air so it doesn't go stale too fast. The solution: purchase this bread box, treat the cotton liner with bees wax (you can either put it in the oven or use an iron and parchment paper. We chose the latter.), and add a waxed-cotton liner for the lid. The end result is a convenient, cute breadbox that looks at home in our decor and keeps bread fresher for significantly longer than wrapping it in foil or other materials.The only issue is that, being a wicker-like material, the woven strands do occasionally pull loose. However, it has so far stood up to our cats' numerous efforts to sit on the lid, so it can't be too weak!

I really like this hand woven basket. It's a more dressed up version of alot of baskets out there. Plus it does have the inner liner to protect the things you put inside. The size is very nice. Not too small that you aren't able to keep a good amount of small to medium size things in there. Not too big or bulky that its awkward looking or hard to put somewhere out in the open. I love that it has a hinged lid, so you can hide the things you don't want people to see or to just keep them protected. Great basket to put out anywhere(bedroom, living room, bathroom, etc). Its nicely made and sturdy, but not to be tossed around or have things placed on top. I also like the curve to the front of the basket. It add uniqueness to a regular old square basket. It makes it look more expensive. The curve isn't too much, just enough to add personality. I wish they had more color options.

Fits perfectly next to my toilet and is spacious and compact at the same time.

I ordered 2 of these baskets for shelves in my bathroom--I needed lidded containers for storing a hair dryer, a flat iron, extra bandaid boxes, soaps, and other incidentals. The baskets came quickly and well-packaged in a huge box and were not dented or abused in any way. Since I ordered the dark brown stain, I expected a chocolate or espresso brown, but I received two baskets of what I'd call a red mahogany color -- definitely reddish brown in the sunlight. They're amazingly roomy for holding lots of the items I listed. The size and quality of the product is great, although the slight bowing in the front bothers me a little. My advise: if you want a cool dark brown color and straight front, don't order these baskets. If you don't care about those two issues, these are great baskets.

I'd purchased this basket to store cordless vacuum attachments so they would not get lost and/or become cat toys. The basket is well-made, the hinged lit fits well, and it is a good looking product. I bought it with reservations, hoping it would work as intended and be well-made enough to be useful, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'd purchased the black basket, because it was hard to tell from the photos the true tone of the brown version. It is much better looking in person than in the photos. The size measurements were accurate, and it I have high hopes it will serve its intended function for a long time. I thought it was a bit pricey, but it is well-made and attractive enough that I think it is a pretty good value for the cost.

I was looking for something to use as a second changing station for our daughter. Prior to this purchase we kept a pile of diapers and everything else sitting on a shelf in our downstairs living room. Definitely an eye sore especially when you are entertaining company. I ordered this basket and was able to perfectly fit a full size canister of wipes along with plenty of extra diapers. Having a lid allows us to hide all the contents out of the way so it just looks like another decoration instead of a pile of diapers. The quality is really good and I love the color. The lining is easily removable and can be thrown in the wash and put back on. I have had already had to wash it once and it was like new when I put it back on. Our friends with kids that come over give us tons of compliments on this basket. I would highly recommend.

Purchased 2 of these Hand-Woven Paper Rope Baskets, well constructed, use these for some extra bathroom storage, find the lid helpful at keeping dust out of the baskets, the liner can easily be removed & washed, the Black Stain looks wonderful with most decor.

Good size perfect to hide a 1000 watts voltage converter in my living room.

Nice looking basket. Well made and worked perfectly. I ended up removing the inside liner, which was very easy. Just untie and take out. I find it looks nicer without.
