Are these easy for a child to open?

It probably depends on the age of the child. My kids (ages 10 & 11) have no problem opening them. Since the seal is the same color as the rest of the product (unlike a zippered plastic bag) it may not be as intuitive for a younger child that the seal needs to be pulled apart. However, once they are shown how to do it, it should be easy.

Will the snack size hold deli lunchmeat?

It can hold deli lunch meat, yes! Although we recommend that the Sandwich bag size might be a bit better for storing more than a serving or two, the snack size might be better for taking lunch meat on the go!
