I used this product to travel across the country. The backing is comfortable and fits everything I need. Straps seems litle weak or cheap, but works as expected.

Very light. Large expansive interior space. Decent straps. Stretchable exterior pockets. Comfortable hip and shoulder straps. I was shopping for a lightweight daypack that could also be used for one or two over night trips. This pack should fit a compact summer sleeping bag, single person tent, and food with room to spare. I'm 6ft 185lbs 44in chest, and the large size works well enough. It should sit on my hips just fine.My only complaint is lack of strap for sleeping pad and an easy access water bottle holder.

I'm 6'1" and the large ospery 25 was my first choice, but it just wasn't long enough in the torso to fit. so i bought this one, the 30, as it was longer the torso and fits just fine. the one issue is ... it is one big internal space. i am accustomed to day packs having two big zippered compartments, and this one just has the one. yes, there is also a lid, with two tiny zippered compartments, and also the expected external side and center pockets; but that's all. FWIW - i compensate by using stuff sacks inside the one big compartment to separate my gear out and make it possible to find something without emptying out everything. i sorta guess there might be a design reason for the omission of the second pocket, so altho disappointing, i don't fault the pack. the main point - its bigger and it fits tall people. and ... the additional storage space is wonderful and of course, the whole daypack is VERY lightweight ... which wass my goal of this purpose! highly recommend

Perfect size for bagging 14ers. I like the top load lid. It can expand to carry a lot or be cinched down to a small size.

I have a few of these Sportlite backpacks and this one is the largest of the bunch being 30L. I ordered a size small/medium which is sized for smaller torso length:S/M 15"-19" Torso sizeM/L 18"-22" Torso SizeFor sizing info and how to measure make sure to check the Osprey website to see what size you should get.I originally ordered this for my spouse to carry but it turns out that he needs a medium/large so it doesn't fit him nearly as well. I'm smaller than him and this fits me perfectly so I am the one usually carrying it. This 30L is the largest capacity of the Sportlite backpacks. My favorite feature of this series is that the back packs all have straps and loops on the bottom to hold hiking sticks. Having gone hiking with the family, inevitably one or more of the kids will get tired of their sticks at some point making us carry the sticks so this feature was very important for us.This larger size is also nice so that it has enough room to carry all the extra layers for our family of five and all the extra snacks we carry. The mesh that floats on top of the foam in the back of the back pack is REALLY nice for keeping my back cool and not get sweaty during our hikes. The straps are SUPER easy and quick to adjust so even though this doesn't fit my husband as well, he does use it when we switch off and adjusting to his size is done in a matter of seconds.My main complaint about all the Sportlite backpacks we've tried, regardless of capacity of the backpack, are the side mesh water bottle pockets. We use 24oz Hydroflask bottles which are quite heavy. These bags have slanted pockets and my bottles have fallen out of them a couple times now taking the back packs on and off. Heck, when my husband leaned forward to tie his shoes our two water bottles on both sides of the bag fell out of the bag. We have now dented 3 of our water bottles due to them falling out of these backpacks. At this point I am wondering if I need to buy different sized/shorter water bottles to use in these backpacks because it is VERY annoying that even bending over the water bottles will just fall right out.Overall this really is a good backpack. The back mesh is breathable keeping me cool, it has a large capacity that fits our families needs, and the hiking stick holders are awesome. My biggest gripe about this Sportlite backpack series are the water bottle pockets that at this point I need to figure out something as I am not keen on our $35+ water bottles getting all dinged up.

I am no stranger to Osprey gear and every piece I have ever had has always been high quality and extremely durable! I had a 50l previously, but it was a bit too big for day bag specific use. This 30L is the perfect size however, and the exterior straps make it extremely easy to adjust up or down in size, depending on if I’m packing light and filling it up for a full day.As far as fit goes, I am 5’5 female and have no issues with comfort. It sits nicely on my hips to mediate weight, and the shoulder and cross chest straps feel snug and comfortable. I am loving the frame it sits on which allows for a generous amount of airflow; I was especially happy about this last month in 90° temps.The black does not get dirty easily either - even after being laid on the ground or getting wet, a quick wipe down restores it quite quick and easily.I really can’t say more good things about this bag or the company in general. Absolutely recommend!

Consistent quality based on my experience with using this brand for years. Despite being a 30L hiking bag, it comes with a quality adjustable hip belt that is SO SO important for your lower back health once you've reached a certain age. I can't stress the importance of this because many people would opt for a regular back pack during hiking and it just really doesn't do it.For hiking, you'll need sufficient water, sunscreen, emergency kits, and a whole myriad of preventive items in anticipation of danger and accidents. The weight will need to be borne by a quality backpack and you'll need the necessary support when wearing them. This backpack will provide all of that and additional functions for utility.
