Q: Does the barometric pressure work properly at high altitudes?

Depends on. How high an altitude you are talking about. Seems to work at 4000 feet.

It should work just fine in Europe. You can adjust the settings from Fahrenheit to Celsius. The outdoor unit has its own network connection to communicate directly with the weather station display indoors.

Q: Does this station provide measures in IS (metric)?

Yes. When you set-up the display for the first time, you enter the correct date and time, and can select either imperial or metric measurements, and either Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature scale.
