TCL 49S403 49” 4K UHD HDR Roku Smart LED TV (Renewed)

This is a really nice tv! Especially compared to my 12 year old 24" LCD it is replacing. I was so nervous about delivery, but it arrived with only a couple dead/stuck pixels, which happens (only one is noticeable on black screens - read that it may go away after two or three weeks), so that's why I am giving it four stars. Will update to 5 stars if that one spot clears up! Some info I wish I would have had before hand is that the stands measure 34" or so apart from their furthest point and you can fit the height of a PS4 under the tv! (About 2 inches) :P Pros: -Setup was easy -Very clean and well packaged -Its not that heavy! The box is awkward, but the tv itself is definitely "light". -Not really a pro, but: Factory refurbished is the safest way to go if you are thinking of a refurbished tv. Cons: -Dead/stuck pixels(7 spots, but only 1 noticeable) CLEARED UP!!! These are more just things that could have been easier: -HDR is only enabled for Playstation by switching input type from auto to hdmi 2.x which means it probably defaults to 1.4(took me an extra 10 minutes to set up my Playstation since I didn't know where the setting was, but it's fine) -Roku remote does not like to accept its back unless you push the sides in as you put it on? Doesn't include 2xAAA batteries -Wish a keyboard could be hooked up through the usb for email and password entry since long passwords are a thing(just me complaining). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: The pixels cleared up after less than a week! Very happy with this tv, some of the apps are a little iffy since I am used to doing everything on my pc instead of Roku's Apps, but that may just be bias.

Buying refurbished is a bit of a gamble, but in this instance it paid off. The packaging was the only negative: a huge, completely unmarked box was delivered by UPS with a crushed corner. I told the driver it contained a TV, and the look of panic on his face told me he had NOT treated it delicately. When I opened the box, the only protection around the unit consisted of inflatable corners and a VERY thin wrapping around the tv itself. If the box had been punctured, there would have been nothing to stop the screen from getting punctured too. The Amazon warehouse should at least put a "fragile" sign on the box. However, when I pulled the tv out and inspected it, all was well. I plugged it in and the vibrant loading screen told me I had made the right decision. No dead pixels, bright colors that are not washed out, and a simple set up that is done in 5 minutes by following instructions on the screen. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I absolutely L-O-V-E it. The built-in Roku is the best part - Chromecast smart TVs don't support Amazon Prime, and even my PS3 struggled with it. This tv has no trouble loading and displaying any streaming service you can think of. A 4k tv this size at this price is totally worth the risk. I'd do it again, but hopefully I won't need to for a few years.

I purchased the refurbished one and it works with zero issues, packaging was intact and in good repair upon delivery, overall I’m very happy with it! The HDR only works through one of the HDMI ports which is disappointing, but I read that that is common. Speakers are of course not the best, but realistically no television has good sound, just get yourself a sound bar and call it a day. The only reason I’m rating 4 stars is the single HDR port, as I have two gaming consoles and deciding which one I want to use HDR solely with is a tough choice.

Simple to use and feature rich. My favorite feature is the remote control app that allows you to stream media from your phone to the tv seamlessly and also allows you to remotely listen to the TV from your phones headphones, just plug in a pair of headphones and the app automatically mutes the TV and streams the audio perfectly synced to your headphones - basically turning your phone/headset into a wireless headset; perfect for late night gaming/watching movies when you don't want to disturb anyone sleeping.

If you are looking for a smart TV with great sound,,, forget this tv!!!! The speakers are located on the back of the tv... horrible sound quality... so I purchased a soundbar,,, another poor decision ... it seems Roku tv’s only works with roku speakers,.. I would never buy this tv again,,, video viewings are ok but with out quality sounds equipment seems somewhat pointless...

Perfectly as described. The TV does not have audio issues as other reviews have said. The installation took all of two minutes, and it was up and running after setting up a FREE roku account. Easy access to Netflix (what I mostly watch) and thousands of other channels, which I have yet to fully explore due to lack of time. The 4k is much better than my previous 1080p tv, and would highly recommend it. At this price point, there is no reason not to purchase it.

The size if this thing is just huge, so the free shipping is a good bonus. And with game mode activated this makes for a good monitor for your pc. The built in Roku is also a great bonus. So when Windows is going through another god awful PC breaking forced update, you can still watch Netflix and YouTube while waiting for your pc to finish. Now mine came with a single dead pixel.it's small, a single offwhite dot in the lower left. But what's worse than that is the screen has some internal scratches. I would send it back for a replacement but the hassle and cost of shipping would add up quickly if they send me another defective one. So final verdict, go for a new one. The money you save buying refurbished isn't worth it.

Like the size and tv works well but this model has the buttons on the bottom and there are only 3.... so you have to click one scroll to power off click another its pretty irritating having to do it this way since my 2 year old is constantly hiding the remote at night time. my older tlc has the buttons on the side and there are more buttons and one specifically for power who would have thought...
