Merula Cup Midnight - One Size Menstrual Cup from Medical Grade Silicon

I got the smaller size of this cup after discovering most period cups on the market are longer than the depth to my cervix during my menstrual cycle. I was having intense cramping and thought maybe it was because the previous cups I had were too long for me. So far, I have had much decreased cramping so very comfortable. Another added benefit is that the shape allows the cup to hold more than my others. It is not completely leak free, but I will say in daily life I have seen a big decrease in leaks compared to my previous cups. Also, the main time it has leaked when not because it was completely full, was because I was wrestling so you know, as long as you’re not doing that level of movement, a panty liner is plenty to catch any small leaks. It’s a little funky to insert and get to open, but I messed around with it and figured out something that works for me. Worth it for the benefits it does have. TLDR: Shorter cup than most, probably leading to less cramping. Leaks mainly only if doing extreme movement.

I have a low cervix and have been DYING for a cup that works well. I needed a wide one that is also really short (four babies really does some damage). This is it. This is the ONLY one out of a dozen I've tried that works and I cried my first period because of how well it worked. It's FANTASTIC

Very rigid cup! I do like that it is shorter so no peek at the bottom from my low cervix but very rigid I could literally feel it the whole time sitting on my pubic bone and couldn’t pee with it in at all!

Heads up, this is elaborate and may be TMI at times. This is my fourth cup, I never had a problem with the other three, yet this thing is tough to get right. My first one, I swear, caused me to have a low cervix, as I never had that problem until using it. So I switched to a cup that looked like this one. After thinking I would never menstruate again I tossed it. Years later I ended up needing it again and so my search began. I got a different brand cup last month that had such a hard rim that it not only hurt to take in and out but I have a dent in my cervix from it that might be permanent. Off went my search for a cup that was as close to the one that I tossed as possible and I thought I found it in this one as they actually look similar. The other one sat a lot lower so when I opened this one up and saw where to insert it I was disappointed. But the worst part is it’s torture getting this thing to work properly. The explanations in the booklet and online don’t really help and if I didn’t wear menstrual underwear with it I’d have ruined my clothing and bedding. It says the cup doesn’t have to be completely open to work but any time I don’t feel that happen it leaks. Getting that to happen is no easy task. Online it says you should be able to spin it around. Well I can do that without a problem while it isn’t completely open and it leaks like crazy. It leaks unless I feel a POP which is a weird feeling to say the least. With all the time I’ve tried to get that to happen it’s only worked once after a lot of work. It happened two other times on its own after walking around. Otherwise it never opened and it leaked quite a bit. Don’t get me wrong, I’d pull it out with plenty of blood inside, but it would still leak like crazy when it didn’t pop. Also, this is the messiest cup that I’ve had. They aren’t ideal for taking out and putting back in in public but this is one that I would never try that with, which is extra bad seeing how difficult it is to get it in right.

…brachten nicht den gewünschten Erfolg, im Gegenteil: eher an den Rande des Wahnsinns! Ich habe im Vorfeld schon Erfahrung mit anderen Tassen gemacht, die mich nicht zufrieden stellten. Es waren Tassen aus der Drogerie, die anfangs das Taten, was sie sollten, aber nach kurzer Zeit versagten. Mein größter Horror während meiner Menstruation ist, wenn ich plötzlich, kurz nach dem wechseln des Tampons oder eben der Tasse, auslaufe. Mit Tampons passiert das natürlich nur nach relativ langer Zeit. Bei den Tassen aus der Drogerie funktionierte es am Anfang sehr ,sehr gut und ich war begeistert, wollte ich doch Müll vermeiden . Selbst beim Fahrradfahren gab es keinerlei Probleme und auch der Wechsel außerhalb meiner vier Wände war kein Problem. Doch nach circa sechs Zyklen ,fingen die Probleme an und es machte mich rasend! Die Tasse einzuführen und nach circa 15 Minuten zu merken, dass ich auslaufe, ist ein absolutes nogo für mich, aber ich probierte es weiter. Ohne Erfolg. Anscheinend habe ich die Tasse nicht richtig eingeführt, denn das Blut wurde nicht aufgefangen, sondern lief an der Tasse vorbei. Ich habe alles versucht: tief einführen, nicht so tief einführen, nach vorne biegen, nach hinten biegen- nichts brachte etwas. Dann informierte ich mich noch einmal im Netz. Ich sah mir Videos auf YouTube an, las Berichte und Rezensionen auf Amazon. So kam ich auf die Merula. Ich hatte gerade wieder einen Tag horrormäßiger Erlebnisse mit meiner Tasse hinter mir und bestellte mir die Merula in schwarz. Als sie ankam, setzte ich sie direkt ein. Das verlief allerdings nicht anders als bei meinen anderen Tassen . Ich merke die Merula nicht und auch die relativ lange Leiter stört mich persönlich nicht. Nach 10-15 Minuten kam die Ernüchterung-auch hier lief ich einfach aus, zwei Tropfen in der Tasse, der Rest dran vorbei. Also wieder von vorn, keine Veränderung. Trotzdem benutzte ich sie nachts ,um am nächsten morgen zu merken, dass sich die Tasse komplett gedreht hatte. Trotz der schwer zugänglichen Leiter, war es kein Problem, die Tasse herauszuholen, allerdings ist auch das für mich persönlich der blanke Horror. Ich möchte nicht wie ein Metzger aussehen und auch nicht während meiner Menstruation in mir herum wühlen. So ging ich mit einem Tampon zur Arbeit. Diese Sicherheit, einfach herrlich. Als ich nach Hause kam, sah ich mir noch ein Video an, und mir fiel auf, dass in diesem die Fallttechnik gezeigt wurde und die Tasse nach dem Falten gedreht wurde. Das hatte ich nicht getan. Also ab aufs Klo, Tampon entfernen, Tasse falten, umdrehen und hinein ins Glück. Was soll ich sagen? So funktioniert es einwandfrei-nachts und auch tagsüber. Das herausnehmen ist kein Problem und auch das Einführen stellt keinerlei Probleme dar. Ich merke die Tasse nicht und finde sie in schwarz einfach großartig. Nach diesem ganzen hin und her kann ich diese Tasse absolut empfehlen. Ich habe in einigen Videos auf YouTube gesehen, dass Frauen ein Problem damit haben, dass die Tasse sich relativ schwer falten lässt. Das kann ich nicht bestätigen. Ich werde die Leiter sehr wahrscheinlich nicht kürzen, allerdings kann man dies wohl tun. Ich bin begeistert, würde sie wieder kaufen und finde den Preis hier auf Amazon einigermaßen angemessen. Im Grunde bezahlt man für Tampons ,vor allem den Marken Tampon auch relativ viel Geld. Ich habe nun mit der dritten Tasse hoffentlich ins Schwarze getroffen. NACHTRAG: Nächste Periode,gleiches Problem wie beim letzten Mal. Ich glaube mittlerweile,dass ich in den ersten zwei Tagen keine Tasse benutzen kann. Sie sitzt einfach nicht da, wo sie sitzen soll, weil wahrscheinlich der Muttermund nicht da ist, wo er sein soll oder ich einfach zu dumm bin, ihn zu finden. Nach zwei Tagen scheint er woanders zu sein, dann klappt es. Mein Mann ist mittlerweile genauso genervt wie ich. „20 Jahre gab e keine Probleme. Mach doch einfach so weiter , wie Du es bisher gemacht hast!“ Ich will einfach nicht nicht aufgeben! :-( Das Auslaufen macht mich allerdings wirklich wütend. Habe mir nun eine Perioden Unterhose gekauft. Allerdings ist das auch nicht Sinn der Sache, weil ich einfach nicht auflaufen will. Ich gebe der Tasse noch 4 Zyklus Chancen. Angeblich soll es dann ja klappen. Hoffnung habe ich keine. Ist ja auch Quatsch,wieso sollte es irgendwann klappen. Ich habe ja anscheinend nicht verstanden , wie es geht.

Très enthousiaste à l'idée d'utiliser ce produit écolo et durable, aux mérites vantés par plein de youtubeuses, j'ai d'abord eu du mal à l'apprécier ! Aux premiers utilisations je n'arrivais déjà pas à le plier correctement pour le mettre. Puis il m'a causé des maux de ventre, car mal placé et avec un effet d'appel d'air. Mais j'ai persévéré et je trouve ça parfait une fois qu'on a pris le coup de main ! Un gain de place dans les placards de la salle de bain, et un geste pour la nature et son budget ;) Pour trouver la taille et le modèle qui me corresponde j'ai utilisé les comparateurs sur des sites spécialisés...

La coppetta migliore che ho trovato fino ad ora. Ho dovuto cambiare la mia storica coppetta mestruale che utilizzavo da più di dieci anni ormai perché deteriorata e sinceramente non ho più trovato una coppetta adatta alle mie esigenze. Questa coppetta è molto capiente ma, nonostante questo, non risulta scomoda per quelle donne che, come me, dopo il parto hanno una cervice più bassa ma un flusso più abbondante di prima. L’unica pecca è che ancora non ho capito bene come metterla perché a volte ha una tenuta eccellente e non perde, altre volte invece ho delle perdite e mi scende. Credo il problema sia mio perché non ci ho ancora preso la mano ad inserirla correttamente, nonostante l’abbia usata per quattro cicli consecutivi e visto che si inserisce in modo diverso dalle classiche coppette (più in alto e con una piegatura a tulipano). La forma e il sacchettino per riporla la rendono molto elegante e il colore (nero nel mio caso) fa si che non si notino le macchie o i cambiamenti di colore dovuti all’utilizzo, come succede con le coppette in classico silicone medicale bianco semiopalescente.

As a first time cup user I decided to order both a ‘traditional’ style cup (one that was suggested would suit me through a quiz!) and this one to see if either worked for me. I started with the more traditional one and after a few frustrating attempts to get it to open up properly and make a ‘seal’ I gave up and tried this one instead and I’m SO glad that I did. So much simpler to use and worked perfectly on second attempt and not had one leak. I have been using for 2 cycles now and I’m sure I’ll never go back to tampons again. For those thinking of trying I say go for it! It’s much less messy than I imagined too, very pleasantly surprised. I’m sure with much more work I could get used to the more traditional style cup But I can’t see that I’ll bother with the effort as this one just works and does the job brilliantly.

Helaas paste niet, wekte voor mij niet. Maarja dat verschilt nu eenmaal per persoon. De cup en alles zag er goed uit en goede kwaliteit. Waren wel heel netjes, je mag terugsturen en krijgt je geld terug. Zij vernietigen hem dan ivm hygiëne.
