Midnight Magic: A Tarot Deck of Mushrooms

This was an impulse purchase, I wasn't looking for more tarot cards but somehow found these and am glad I did. Beautiful, unusual cards and I'm enjoying getting to know them, along with learning more about mushrooms! The card is quite thick and a bit stiff but with use they'll ease up a bit. The book has colour illustrations of each card along with instructions and interpretations. As I love unusual and quirky tarot decks I'm finding them delightful.

I love this deck. The artwork is fae, in keeping with the nature of the subject. The ‘little people’ pop up here and there throughout the images. 78 varieties of shrooms are represented, the magician is assigned a shroom from the psilocybin family, tho the infamous one whose effects probably birthed the Tarot itself does not make an appearance. The reason for the title ‘midnight mushroom’ quickly becomes obvious, as all the shrooms are painted on a black background. The images are stylish and sophisticated.The artist Sara Richard has done a fine job assigning the meanings of each card to mushrooms with a relevant story. This is not simply a deck of 78 mushrooms randomly assigned. The small but thorough book that accompanies the deck explains the assignations beautifully.The production is superb, no cheap and nasty plastic laminate, this deck has a quality matt finish. Recommended to all mushroom lovers, and those who want to own a magical and classy deck with depth.

The artwork is beautiful beyond words. The card stock is compact with a cardboard texture. I plan on using this deck however, being very gentle with it to limit wear. I see myself purchasing a backup once it's on sale. Besides the features, the deck interview was spot. It's very easy to read (especially for intuitive readings) and looks amazing in spreads. I'm very happy with my purchase.Update: The card stock may be like cardboard but, it's held up with no wear on edges after using it for 30 client readings so far. I purchased a second copy of this deck as a back up. The deck is really beautiful and to my surprise I have developed a strong bond with it. It has an earth mother energy with effortless translation (for me) It will be one of my staple decks and I will buy a 3rd back up when it's on sale. This is not a beginners deck but one for intensive intuitive training or an initiation deck.

As a forager and nature lover I can really connect with these cards. The pictures are just joyful making it easier for me to continue learning Tarot reading, the characters of the fungi really match with the cards. I have already done a few readings with them and had great results and good feedback. They are almost too pretty to use but I can't not use them.

Beautiful illustrations, solid strong box, nice size cards. Quality of cards is ok, thick card stock with a matt finish, but i can tell it will probably wear down with more use.Book quality is great, nice coloured pages and provides simple short explanations. I found it neat that they also provided a little tidbit about the mushrooms featured on the cards.One thing i didn't enjoy was the flimsy insert that kept the cards from sliding around in the box as the box was larger than the cards. Would have much preferred if the box and book was of the same size as the cards so they fitted perfectly in the box without the need for the flimsy cardboard insert that just keeps getting snagged when you try to remove or put away the cards. This is literally the deck of my dreams, the colours and translations are absolutely wonderful 👍 I highly recommend.The only problem I found with this deck is it was a little bit stiff to start will, I do think the card stock is a little bit on the thick side, that said I'm sure with regular use it will soften.

The cards have had so much thought and love put into them. The cards are high quality and the art is gorgeous!!!!! The meanings line up with the properties of the mushrooms. So if you're a keen forageror mycologists you'll connect with them straight away.

Beautiful and unique deck thick card and easy to use excellent book and box to keep all together I’d say it’s worth a purchase just for the quality and uniqueness they are also easy to interpret and great for guidance
