This was soooo great for our house. Our townhome goes wall to banister and no gate was working so my hubby installed this. Super easy, already came with all of the tools, and very sturdy! Great value for money

Easy to use, you just zip tie it to your stair banister. You just need a saw (small hand saw works) to cut the wood piece down to the appropriate height, so there is a bit of work but manageable! I like that there were protective foam strips to make sure that the banister doesn't get scratched from the zip ties. It's been a few months and it's holding up well, probably better than the side that goes into drywall.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Took me forever to find the right fit for my banister. It was easy to set up and its very sturdy for my rowdy little!

I've had this for several weeks now. I like it, but. It came missing the screws (and screwdriver), but that was easy enough to fix with screws I had. However looking at the picture (on the listing), there's the top part that sticks up above the banister. That is exactly how mine is, that's the reason I had to buy this. When I have the gate installed, the top of the gate presses very hard into that top section where there is no banister behind it. I have this installed very securely, as tight as I could possible get it with the supplied zip ties, but it still bows out somewhat because of the pressure on the top that I've described. It's fine so far, but I'm afraid with more time that it will snap the wood on this extender. Time will tell.

This thing is a total waste of money. Terrible wood that split when I installed the screws (into the PRE-DRILLED HOLES), and it didn't even end up fitting our wrought iron bannister. Even if it had fit, I don't recommend this because it's just so cheap. You're better off zip tying your gate to the bannister.

I loved this product so much I bought two. It keeps my 2.5 year old safely away from my stairs in my town home. It is very sturdy, and easy to install.

This works good. It’s honestly just longer piece of wood that you could buy from Home Depot or Lowe’s, but it did the job!

It took a little bit of creativity to make it work but putting the gate up without it would have been so much harder. Seems to be of good quality too!
