The Hartsdale Raincoat in 40R fits well for a guy who is 5'7" tall and 185 lbs in weight, as long as you wear it as intended, with a suit jacket or other outerwear underneath. The overall size is very much in line with the Hamlet and Featherlite in a size Medium, or the Burnett in size 40R. The exception to the good fit of all of these is the sleeve length being about 3/4” too long. The sleeve length is acceptable for a short guy, but it is longer than I think most would prefer. Very good build quality, better than you would expect for the price.The Hartsdale Raincoat in 40S fits well for a guy who is 5'7" tall and 185 lbs in weight, as long as you wear it as intended, with a suit jacket or other outerwear underneath. The sleeve length of the “S” (short) version is just right for me. I tried nearly all of this manufactures various models of raincoats that Amazon offered and not too surprisingly, the 40S is the size that fits me the best. Silly as it may seem, I kept the Hartsdale Raincoat in 40R, not the short version, because I am really taken with the “Teak” color that it came in. Like I said, silly. But, I really like that color and I can have the sleeves taken up a bit if I decide to.

Excellent quality rain coat. The topcoat is all synthetic, while the liner is mostly wool (not noted in the description).Note that this is cut to accommodate a suit jacket or bulky sweater underneath of the corresponding size. That means if you wear a 44 suit coat and plan to use this as an overcoat, order a 44. If you plan to wear this only over a shirt or other form-fitting clothes, size down one increment, e.g. if you wear a 44 suit coat, order a 42 for this raincoat.

I'll admit that I wasn't thrilled about the price but I needed a coat for an upcoming trip from wintery California (LOL) to the freezing east coast. My problem was that I didn't have a good coat for winter to wear with my suits. I have those longer camel coats for winter but they are too bulky for travel.Enter this guy... looks sharp, super warm and decent water protection. Wind had no effect and the light rain that I experienced was literally shaken off with a simple snap of the coat. The great thing is, this also has a zip out liner so it works great as an additional shell if you don't need the extra bulk for the cold.I would highly recommend this product for you business travelers out there. A great product and much more affordable than commercial retailers for a similar product. Fashionable as well and does everything that you would expect with finesse and ease. I am very glad that I bought this and happy that I have this in my wardrobe.

I got this for my husband for Christmas. It fit him like it was made for him. He can wear it year round as there is a heavier piece that zips in or out for winter. It is very stylish, and the fit is perfect on him. It is a business raincoat which is what my husband wanted. I couldn't find one any where, and looked here and found it. If your husband needs a such a coat this one unbelievably deliveries. I ordered it Saturday the 22nd and it was at my door before 5:00 pm the following Monday the 24th. I was thrilled over that.

I bought this raincoat for a trip to London in November, where it was cool and often drizzling. The raincoat with its liner was warm and comfortable. I liked the feel of the fabric and dressy look as well. Finally, it is easy to get on and off, much more so than my previous belted, trench-coat variety.

As some others have mentioned, the coat is cut slightly large. I wear a 44L suit and and thankfully ordered a 42L. It fits perfectly over my suits as I wear it without the lining zipped in. If you are looking for a functional business style raincoat to protect your suit then this is what you want.

Needed a nice black raincoat for a funeral up north on a day that 100% chance of [heavy] rain was predicted. The rain held off to a slight drizzle, but this coat, with the lining removed and worn over a suit, was good to have on a 60 degree day, regardless. Not a big fan of the buttoned tabs at the cuffs, but I was up against the wall for time, and the overall quality of the coat is good.

I was skeptical due to Chinese origin despite HSM reputation. However, the coat is excellent. Warm, totally repels rain, pockets are properly placed & roomy. Liner is not an afterthought.

I wear 38R in suits and overcoats but for HSM regular fit I buy 36R. Therefore, I bought 36R of this coat and it fits nice. Quality is very good and find the removable inside lining useful. Overall, it is a very good quality product.

High Quality jacket but fits very large. So if you are a 44 inch chest order 42.Love the look and feel had to return as it was simple to large for me.
