I had used the silicone strips before and was pleased with them but wanted to try this gel instead. I will be going back to the strips. I havent noticed a difference after several weeks and I know with the strips, you could tell by now. Unfortunate as this wasnt cheap.

In September 2017 I was ran over by a speeding truck. I was left with two broken hips and a shattered left femur. My leg was placed in traction for three days until my surgery was scheduled. The surgery was to place a rod and pins to promote regrowth of the femur bone. The ordeal left me with five nasty scars, three incisions from the rod & pins placements and two holes from the drilling for traction. I couldn’t walk for three months per doctors orders. My physical therapist gave me silicone sheets to massage on the scars to help diminish their appearance. That didn’t help with fading the marks. I then began my search for a product to fade my scars. I came across MD Performance-Ultimate Scar Formula. I read through all the reviews, still very skeptical, decided to order it, and prayed I would have amazing results. I received the product in April 2018. My scars were 7 months old now and I was convinced it was too late for any positive results. The day the formula arrived I started using it. I’ve been applying very little only once a day after a shower or bathing. The first three photos were taken six weeks after my procedure. The last two photos were taken today, ten months since my surgery and 3 months since I started using MD Performance. I’m sooo pleased with my results. It’s AMAZING!!!! If you’re having any reservations about purchasing look at my photos. It’s the real deal. My review is unsolicited.

It definitely worked to smooth out the scars and reduce redness but it's just too greasy for certain spots. I had a breast reduction and having greasy t!ts all day is not ideal. It either gets wiped off by clothing or some gets absorbed into the tissue I use to prevent it from getting on my clothes. I usually put a layer of Vaseline over the stuff and then a tissue so the tissue absorbs the Vaseline but wtf should I have to go through all that trouble? Also, it's way too small, it lasted a week..? I gave it 4 stars cause I could tell it was working but for my specific situation I decided to buy a different dimethicone scar treatment that is a lotion so it rubs in completely; it's double the price but you get more than 3x the product so...can't wait for it to come in the mail.

This is my second time buying this scar treatment because it works! Don't hesitate to buy it. My daughter jabbed her face on the end of a rugged porch handle. I felt terrible and didn't want her to have a big scar for people to comment on and ask about like I have. I got this for her and she started using it at soon as it scabbed over. She is only 8, so as soon as the mark started healing, she wasn't even very consistent using it and now this huge gash only looks a little discolored, but she has naturally uneven skin-tone, so it blends right in. There is no texture difference as in other scars. I am so greatful for this product. It is so expensive, but it goes a long way. I originally picked it because of reviews and also it does not have parabens like the other choices. Parabens have been found concentrated in breast tumor tissue so there is speculation that they can contribute to the development of these tumors, why take a chance.**Update**we are on our second tube and her scar is no longer visible. We are now using it on mosquito bites which scar my older daughter very badly. This is preventative, I am very confident in this product.

DON'T BUY THIS ITEM, DANGEROUS & FALSE GUARNTEE OF REFUNDABLE! DESCRIPTION SAYS RETURNABLE WITHIN 30 DAYS, WHEN I WENT IN TO RETURN/REFUND ITEM I GET THE MESSAGE "ITEM NONREFUNDABLE BECAUSE OF CHEMICAL RESTRICTIONS"!!! This is hazardous, caused a large deep red dry rash! Took a chance b/c I researched this in depth on multiple sites/sources & ranked among top 5, plus confident that if there was a problem Amazon would honor it's statement to refund w/in 30 days. Bought it for a scar I got on my shin in a fall, which is about an inch oval-type shape. First: it came with no instruction paper or pamphlet, there's nothing about product except instruct to rub 2x's a day. Second: Arrived w/only tube of stuff in the mailing pouch , not in any kind of plastic bag or proct box. Thurd: After 2 wks using, I notice a big red rash extending outside & completing surrounding the scar about 1/2 inch. Fourth: Stopped using it for a week, the red rash surrounding scar is getting bigger. Fifth: $28 price is now costing ne more b/c now added is dermatology and & MD medication to treat this rash, bigger than the scar. Do not waste your money & risk more deep damage to scar area!!!! Trying to argue with Amazon to get my money refunded.

I started using MD Performance ten days after a thyroidectomy which was required to remove a cancerous thyroid tumor. My scar, once the steri-strips were removed, was hideously raised, bright red, and extremely noticeable. People at work commented immediately. This product was not recommended to me, but had great reviews on Amazon so I gave it a shot. I am so thankful I did. Two months post surgery, 1/2 of the scar is completely gone, save for a thin line, and I have every confidence that the other half, where the incision and subsequent scar was more invasive, has flattened and softened. I see more of an improvement every few days. I just purchased my second tube (a little goes a long way), and will continue applying it 2X a day. My initial fear after surgery was that I would never be able to wear a thin gold choker necklace again, my favorite understatement in the way of jewelry. I proudly put one on this morning, and it looks terrific!
