Kit includes everything, even the tool needed. It's a little bit difficult to do, but not too bad.

It sort of works... (re-review)
2020: This one was a dud. The piston inside got stuck and I've tried to clean, shake and thump it to loosen it up. I get cold to warm-ish. The piston inside when stuck, chokes off the hot side.Original Review:...but, as with many reviews point out, the tool is not great for removing the old parts. The tool I received was a little loose. It had no markings on it to say it was a Symmons tool nor any other of the parts. Needless to say the tool torn right past all the tiny notches on the old TA-4 big piece. Lucky thing I have a Dremal tool and a tungsten cutting bit. It took over cutting the raised inside section to make enough purchase to jam the tool at for removal. The small seal face portion was a luckily easy removal. Inserting was far easier and in the end all worked. Cartridge shaft seals were switched out, but the diverter needed replacing... not clear if the seal was there. I did not find instructions and the packaging was damaged during delivery. In the end we have a working shower and the leaks are now only tiny... diverter still needs work.
