I have a shop separate from my house and wanted to get wifi to it easily. This set up works pretty well. I am able to stream my music, play videos on my phone, all without issues. Pretty easy to set up, easy to install, and works well. It is about 50’ from my wifi source, then another 50’ to the inside portion of my shop. Range is really good, I hold my wifi signal at least 100-200’ from this device.

The AX-1800 was the solution to boosting the wireless signal around our pool. The setup was simple and easy. I configured the device as a standalone as I had no need for the management software. My need was to boost our wireless signal to the backyard pool area and beyond. The install was very easy. The included Power over Internet injector worked perfectly and I had a signal in no time. I had an unmanaged switch and a 110v outlet in my attic. I purchased 75' of CAT6 cable along with the AX-1800 and had it all setup and configured in 30 minutes or less. The signal strength on our pool deck went from 16 Mbps to 588 Mbsp. YMMV, but i am thrilled with the results. Best part of all is that the AX-1800 Is paintable. I put 2 light coats of spray paint on it to, as closely as I could, match the exterior color of my house with no signal loss or issues of any kind. Much better look than the stark matte white finish of the item out of the box.

Originally bought these to extend the network at a relative's house, to cover the back yard, and provide an uplink to another EAP-610 at the barn. I did not research it properly or I would have understood the caveats to the "mesh" claim. By themselves, without an Omada controller, these devices do not do any kind of mesh. Other than that, as repeaters or APs, they're great, the price point was excellent, easy to install, easy to chain them up in the Omada app to repeat the signal out to the barn. Most impressive is the resulting coverage, which turns out to reach the boundaries of the entire property. Several acres, I'm not sure exactly how many. Hundreds of meters in all directions. After about a year of use, with frequent drop-outs due to the fiber provider's gateway rebooting and the repeaters failing to rejoin, we upgraded to the OC220 Omada hardware controller and the Omada ER706W Wifi Gateway, for true mesh and centralized management. This was definitely the right move, Omada's management interface is wonderful for this price point, providing lots of useful information, optimization, and configuration options, as well as remote management. Performance significantly improved, as well, after disabling the provider modem's wifi, enabling IP passthrough and disabling NAT, all handed off to the new Omada gateway, which is part of the mesh. Throughput and latency to wireless clients is excellent. I would buy these again, and would like to add some of the newer, beefier Omada APs in the future.

I set mine up as an extender using the POE so the feed to the extender was ethernet. I need to have strong wifi to the swimming pool equipment and wife cameras and got tired of replacing interior extenders outdoor in the Gulf coast air. I had three ethernet cables dedicated on our ground patio; one for a tv, one for a camera, and now this extender. I am getting speeds on 2.4 of 200 Mbps and 5g of 400. They actually reach into both floors of the house above (house is on pilings) with enough speed to handle anything we do such as streaming but that is just to point out the capability. Our inside modem though takes care of that, but we could. So, color me impressed.

I'm excited to have finally found an access point that isn't flaky. I've tried so many that are unreliable, or intermittently provide DHCP (when they were told not to), or poorly handle multiple connections, and so much more. This unit has been solid. Was quick and easy to set up and has been rock solid. As a bonus, it really IS possible to set this thing up without having to install any software or using any cloud services. Just connect to its built-in web-server and ... voila! Love it!
