Overall, I'm very pleased with these dishes. I like to mix and match my china. Mostly, I have Spode blue and white china and these go very well with them. We had a set of 7" plates in a floral pattern and most of them have broken so when I saw these I decided to get them. The only thing that bothers me is that the rim is raised and you can't see that in the picture. so if you want to cut something with a knife and fork you hit the rim with your utensils. I guess I will adjust to it. But my husband likes them a lot and they look really beautiful on the table with the blue and white china. Update: I see some users have had a problem with cracking and crazing but so far nothing like that has happened to our set. We have put them in the microwave oven. They go into the dishwasher on an almost daily basis. I just took them out of the cupboard to look at them and there are no marks of any kind. Not even a little chip. They are very pretty, even more so in real life. So if you like them get them.

The plate is beautiful. I have had a set of portmeirion for many years and some have been microwaved many times, and have begun to crack. This is a replacement for a plate.

I fell in love with this pattern about 20 years ago, when my grandmother gave me 2 place settings. She continued to give me additional place settings as gifts over the years. Unfortunately, I've broken a few plates, so I ordered the 6 salad plates to supplement my collection. I ordered them on a Tuesday and received them on Friday using my free Super Saver Shipping. They arrived in perfect condition - lots of boxes and bubble wrap - and are just beautiful! I agree with others that they do fade after years of use, and I've had a few plates develop cracks, but again, this is after 15+ years of use. I never get sick of this pattern and would definitely recommend them. Oh - for some reason, the photograph only shows 4 plates, so I wasn't sure if I would get 6 different patterns or if I would get 2 of the same pattern. You receive 6 different patterns - they're all beautiful.

Beside the fact that Botanical Garden dinnerware set a lovely table, they are sturdy enough for every-day use, and have a lovely feel to touch. I love the profile of the plates, which have raised rims which contain the contents nicely. The perfect glazing flows around their form with no rough edges because they have been fired on stilts rather than dry-foot, as so many other dinnerware is nowadays.. I love using the bowls and salad plates in combination with some solid color plates , as the colors in the artwork on each piece coordinates so well with any color background. They make me smile.

The Portmeirion Botanic Garden Salad Plate is absolutely stunning. The design is vibrant and adds a touch of elegance to any table setting. I love the botanical motifs and the quality of the craftsmanship. The plate is the perfect size for serving salads or desserts. It's also dishwasher and microwave safe, which adds to its convenience. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to others.
