The last time I tasted gur was when i lived in a Haryana (India) village while serving in the Peace Corps in 1971-72. I recently remembered the taste of this delicious sugar, and despite my having forsworn the use of sugar several years ago, I decided to fall off the wagon once and ordered this product. It comes in a solid block and you'll need to break it up with a hammer (place in a zip-lock bag, wrap in a dish towel and WHACK!) Delicious in chai (Indian style boiled tea) or just to place in the mouth and dissolve. When this lot is gone it will be a long time before I treat myself again, but THANKS.

Was delivered with fermentation and mold and smelled strong of beer or wheat. This product did not have all of the water removed and was not properly made. It was soft in certain places. I was really wanting something that was 100% but I’m pretty terrified of this brand now. Going to have to pass. Amazon refunded me and I tossed it 😞

This is my first online purchase of Jari, having moved away from the store where I usually got it. I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived, and it is comparable or better to any other jaggery product I’ve used. The smell is wonderful, and I used it to make some squash, and it was a really big hit. I ended up sending home jaggery with my guestsWill buy again

This is PALM and NOT sugar cane Jaggery. However, nowhere on the package it is listed the fact that it is palm Jaggery. I ordered it assuming that it was sugar cane Jaggery. It is very sweet, but it has a different taste than sugar cane Jaggery which I don't like as much. No molasses taste. Also, in hot coffee It creates small gooey pieces. It appears it doesn't dissolve all the way. But, I still can use it instead of sugar in coffee or tea. In addition, after some research about Palm Jaggery, I learned that it has lots of minerals and it is a very healthy sweetner. For example, it helps with weight loss and it heals migraines among its many benefits! So, I would definitely recommend this product (palm Jaggery) for its many different health benefits. I believe its taste is just a matter of getting used to it. I am thinking to use this jaggery as an energy bar during my workouts and long hikes. It has composite carbohydrates, which is great for a good energy boost without feeling full during workouts. Definitely it is a must try product.

This product is excellent. I ordered to try out a recipe but the taste is so great that I started using it for my tea also. Just melts in your mouth!

Product arrived broken (shattered container with no lid), moldy and smelling of something like dish soap??? TOTALLY unacceptable condition. Please read other reviews and do NOT buy.
