Leupold 171387 VX-5HD 2-10x42mm 30mm CDS-ZL2 Matte Duplex Reticle Riflescope

It’s been on my ‘62 Mod. 70 in 30-06 for 9 months. Dial has been up and down countless times between 100 and 600 yds. Used for carrying out our Managed Land Deer Permit in Texas, I’ve taken 15 WT deer at ethically appropriate ranges, and a dozen or so axis and sika out to 525 yds. since Dec. ‘18. We have an exotic problem.My rifle and scope endure hard use. Through bouncing in the truck, walking the hills and canyons, unsteady tripods, raised blinds, numerous hard knocks, and a few drops, this scope has maintained zero. I have not bench tested it beyond 500 yds. Mainly because I just have not had the time. And that’s the only reason I have not given it 5 stars. I’ll reserve the 5 stars and above for the 880 and 1,000 yd. tests shots I can set up from hilltop to canyon bottom. I have no doubt that the the dial cuts at that range will be spot on.I would not expected less. I have used Leupold to top my rifles for 35 years, with the VX-III, VX-3 CDS being my latest glass. I hope to stretch it out through the second revolution in the near future. Stay tuned.
