Well, they are not thin and not thick. These are very comfortable, wash well, and don’t need ironing if you take them from the dryer.

I usually wear a 42 but these are stretchy so if I order a 40 waist will they fit???

I say no - definitely get your proper size. These babies are skin tight, even at the waist. I normally wear 36 and 36 fits me.
