Book to study, plus Kindle version for reference
Had some other books from PACKT and they are all very instructive, also opted for the kindle download in addition to use as a reference. To study I always find books still preferable.

I'm on chapter 3 of this book and this is ...
I'm on chapter 3 of this book and this is what I've seen so far: there are details that are omitted in the instruction that are necessary. For instance, in the connection managers in the Cookbook SSIS solution, you have to change the name of the target server to your named instance if it's not the default name. The connection managers assume you are using the default name. Also, the Staging project won't deploy because it has non functional Azure connection managers. I had to remove the Azure cmgrs and the associated package to get to to deploy. If there's a chapter later that makes use of these resources, what am I to do?I will come back and update this as issues surface. For now - it's extremely frustrating to have to twiddle with these glitches when I want to focus on learning more about SSIS 2017.

Wrong Year
The book title is SSIS 2017, however 3/4 of the book speaks to 2016… It has a lot of examples and a lot of code/scripts. But I really didn't find it useful. I'm returning it tomorrow

Compact guide for grasping most concepts in SSIS, both simple and advanced.
A really good kick start for doing most things in SSIS. Requires some basic knowledge of SSIS and thinking abilities, so you can apply the recipes of the book to your environment. I enjoyed the later chapters of the book most, when I could get jump-started into R, Azure and load balancing features that would be hard to learn without instructions.

Excellent book, specially for the Data Quality Services, and R integration.
Excellent book, specially for the Data Quality Services, and R integration. It is a good update if you are already familiar with SSIS.

Nightmare
Worst book I ever read on BI. Spelling errors, total mess with narrative logic, online sample files aren’t ready for work with and so on.Authors presumed you’re a big pro and those minor details you would take care of yourself before you could actually be able follow their learn by doing guidance.

The code from Chapter 3 doesn't load with vs2015, 2017, 2019
I was keen when I got this book. Each chapter consists of very good step by step guides and explanations. Unfortunately, the code for projects from Chapter 3 doesn't load to VS. I have tried to reach out for help on the publisher website, but the form is buggy and throws errors.Hence, this book looks promising, but I think there is more to be done with the code updates.
