Love the Licorice to Cool Down Dark Brown Hair or Brighten Black. I Leave on an Hour
I have very dark brown hair with 5% grays now which aren't very noticeable. I have always used a semi permanent blue black color to cool down my color which looks better against my olive skin. Now I use a bit of permanent color on my roots and temporary color all over as the permanent color fades and looks blah over time. So the Luminous Licorice was being used over some virgin hair and some previously colored hair. I used it like it was hair color, not conditioner, putting it on dry hair, (I also put a cap on it) shampooing it out, and conditioning after. as there were NO visible instructions. I always leave temporary color on for a long time to penetrate since it's more of a conditioner. This time I left it on probably 90 minutes. After all that my hair looked amazing. the color was lush and vivid. Since there is no peroxide or ammonia, you really can leave it on. And of course if you don't like it, you can always use a shampoo like un-do-goo by Malibu C. Since I use blue black, I always I'm pretty sure I'm going to like the color. If I was using a different color I would do a strand test. And I would try leaving it on a long time. I went to the website and looked for instructions on how to use the product. And I found two different directions. The first set of directions said to use it the way that I did. To put it on dry hair. And maybe and a tiny bit of water. Very tiny. To help it process. They are still saying 10 to 20 minutes. And that may work for some people. For me I know I need an hour. And then shampoo. They don't think you need a condition after. But I do. Then I saw another set of instructions on there a different day saying to use it after you shampooed. Towel dry. And use it as a conditioner after. I tried it that way. And it was completely useless on MY hair. Shampooed my hair. Dried it but it was still wet. Put on the color and left it on for quite a while. And it really didn't do much. I heard it to be dry might work for you though. My hair is difficult. It's already colored. It's a bit wavy but also frizzy. It's very dry. It's past my shoulders. And I have to use hot tools on it. So it needs a ton of TLC. not in the best condition

Dark licorice
Dude this stuff was crap, didn’t gloss or smooth my hair, the black faded in one wash to a dark blue purple and there’s not many ways to remove this dye there was nothing on the internet and I used oops color remover and my hair was patchy blonde and green. One or two more sessions could probably get it out but I’m going to try a bleach wash. Color was horrible, “gloss and glaze” wasn’t there, bottle was difficult to use it’s a thick cream it doesn’t get out of the bottle easily, and the color barely lasted a wash. The ends of my hair are still dark due to the health of it but it’s not black it’s blue and green and purple

Fantastic results
I have several tones of glaze. I have nearly black and silver sprinkled all over natural hair color. I love my silver but no reason to not zazz up with a temp tone from time to time. My silvers took the color and held it. It is fading over time. The copper and cherry were the most saturated in my hair. The brown tone just warmed my very cool nearly black natural hair. The conditioner aspect is amazing. By winters end my hair was wiry, frizzy, dry. It was starting to resemble doc brown and no amount of deep conditioner, oils masks were helping. But the glaze totally tamed the frizz and my hair was super soft, letting my waves and curls be controlled. I wanted to buy glaze clear, for when I am totally natural, with the fabulous conditioning properties, but Amazon canceled that order. I bought a different brand, clear glaze, and do not like it as much. Hair feels not as soft and more dry. It's been two months since my first purchase and I still have subtle tone, as it gradually fades. Definitely will buy again.

It worked for me!
As long as you aren’t expecting max coverage, or to dye your hair, this is great! It’s nice little revamp! My natural hair is long and ashy brown, but I get a dark gloss every couple of months. It stays in between black and brown. I got the luscious licorice glaze. It worked for me! It put a slight tint on my roots, and definitely coated my hair as well. Imagine putting a filter (like for pictures) on your hair. Most of all it left it so SO shiny and soft. It definitely softened up my ends. After reading all the reviews I was hesitant but I’m glad I went for it. Here’s what I did: Shampoo’d and conditioned like normal. Towel dried my hair and split it half up half down. I used gloves and smeared it on bit by bit from root to tip, saturating more in the middle to ends, while combing through with my fingers. Don’t be afraid to get it on your scalp, it rinsed out. I clipped my hair up in a bun and left it for an hour. I know it says 10 minutes but the formula is safe to leave it on! I figure why not. I rinsed it out with just water first, then light shampoo and then extra conditioner. Like I said, it worked for me! Very happy with it. The only negative is the dang bottle is so hard to use and squeeze, I don’t know how that passed production haha.

It's just okay, definitely stains
I have naturally black thick hair of asian ethnicity. I had dyed my hair a medium brown a few years ago with a following failed attempt at dying my hair to my natural hair color about a year later. So, I was left with half a head of brown hair still. I used glaze in hopes to semi dye my hair darker or black again despite the claims that its not permanent. Based on others amazon reviews, I still tried it. It definitely stains much like regular typical hair dye. I applied it on clean, freshly showered hair and left it on for 10 minutes before rinsing. I can still see brown hair but its not as opaque or pigmented. My hair doesn't feel softer to be honest as I (deep) condition regularly. I have enough left over to do 1-2 more washes with it and anticipate it may help to completely cover my previously dyed brown hair. Additionally, it's difficult to empty the bottle as it is rigid. Definitely have somebody help apply it due to this case. Otherwise, it smells nice and looks pretty. Unsure how long the condition dye may last after a few washes but it seems more permanent for others (especially those dying light colored hair) based on other reviews.

actually works!
so i saw this had really bad reviews but i watched some youtube videos that convinced me to get it. i’m really glad i did because i love the results! the bottle does suck to use but i just took off the cap and squeezed it out. it was thick and easy to apply. i have armpit length thick hair and used about half the bottle to saturate my hair. i used a clarifying shampoo (no conditioner) and let my hair air dry, then applied the color and brushed through. i let it sit with a shower cap on (mainly to keep my babies hands out of it) for about 30 mins then i rinsed with cool water. i have previously bleached and then colored my hair multiple times and it was a faded medium brown color on the ends before using this. now it looks like an off black color and is super soft! im not sure how it will fade but i will continue to use this because the results were exactly what i wanted!

Didn't stick
Had high hopes from all the reviews. Still not sure if the glaze is like hair dye, that's what I assumed from what I was reading still not sure if it is but It did nothing for my white hair growing in. I had dyed my hair black over 2 months ago and was wanting something to refresh it and I don't feel like it did much. No instructions on the bottle.ao looked.them up online. The solution is thick and the bottle does not defense the product well, I had best results from taking the top off. I also got the conditioner that was recommended also by glaze and not sure if it was the glaze dye or the conditioner but my hair texture was terrible after. My hair is normally not this Frizzell our and nearly It gave it a different texture. It does have a strong smell. It is nice but after a while its annoying. If you are sensitive to string smells I do not recommend. I read another review that they tried it for 90 min and it does work. I will have to try again and see what the results are.

My hair is so soft
I was initially hesitant to buy this product after reading many reviews, but I decided to give it a try. My natural hair is brown with a red tint, and I was aiming for a darker look. I have coarse, thick hair and wasn't sure if this would actually make my hair glossy or shiny. I chose the Licorice color and left it on for about 30 minutes to ensure it absorbed well into my hair. I'm really pleased with the results—my hair feels incredibly soft and turned out darker than I expected. I've washed it twice now, and it's still holding the dark color, though I was primarily using it for a specific event this weekend, so I don't mind if it fades. Overall, I'm happy with this product and think I might start using it monthly.

Mixed Feelings, Mostly Positive
To start, I have 30inch long 1a medium density finer hair, level 2 in colour. I ordered this with 2 purposes to test out. 1. To see if, over a demi permanent colour I use that is newly formulated and too red-toned, if it will cool it down. 2. To see if it deepens my natural colour to a 1 level. I washed and dried my hair, then applied this and left it on for a number of hours. So, the positives: -Definitely good colour saturation. I think it will be effective in mitigating the red tones I want to get rid of. -Smells fantastic. -My hair felt GREAT rinsing it out. While I can say my hair has felt silkier with other products, it feels very soft. -It was actually not so messy! It easily came off my skin even with just water, and application wasn't messy because it is a very thick fluid. And rinsing out wasn't bad at all either, no mess left in my bathtub (I will add, because I left it on for so long, most colour was absorbed by my hair and so it didn't come out upon rinsing). The "mixed"/negative aspects: -I do notice a great shine in my bathroom light, but it doesn't seem as shiny as my hair has been with other treatments. I DO have very shiny hair anyway, and I've learned there is sort of a maxing out of how shiny hair can be. So I think if you're looking for shine and smoothness, you'll find it. I suspect maybe the single tone of the gloss sort of "flattens" the dimensionality of my hair, so the gloss adds shine but the colour doesn't give as reflection as normal (I will see after a wash or two how this holds). I think I was a little disappointed with the shine, I prefer the effect of lamellar water. -The bottle is very small. While the thickness of the fluid may counteract this, it still feels quite pricey for the volume. -The plastic used for the bottle is too hard. It was so difficult to squeeze out the product especially when it got to about 1/2 full (I suspect, can't tell exactly how much remains in the bottle). I think it will be challenging to finish the whole bottle and I'm nervous a lot of product will be wasted unless I figure out how to saw the bottle in half. This was the biggest negative for me. I am not sure I'll repurchase. While it's a lot messier, it's better value for me to get Arctic Fox to add a hue to my hair, and I don't see much difference shine wise than my using Arctic Fox + my usual conditioners.

Great Shine, but Left My Hair a Bit Stiff
I recently tried the Glaze Shiny Colour Finishing Conditioner in Luminous Liquorice, and while it delivered on its promise of vibrant color and shine, it did leave my hair feeling a bit hard after use. The color came out beautifully—a deep, rich shade with noticeable shine that lasted for several washes, which was a big plus. The application process was easy and quick, just like the 10-minute claim, and I appreciated that it didn’t require a lot of effort to see results. However, the texture of my hair felt a little stiff afterward, even though I followed the instructions carefully. Overall, I’d still recommend this product if you're looking for a semi-permanent dye with great color payoff and shine. Just be aware that it might leave your hair feeling a bit hard, so you may want to use a deep conditioner afterward to soften it up.
