This was a no brainer gift. Forget getting it for an engineer, it's perfect for anyone who has to try and explain things to anyone. Boss loved it, showed it to everyone and uses it daily. It was the perfect gift (but now I have to try and top it) :D

I've been training younger programers, and yeah I can relate to the the thought. To be clear, they are smart and making good progress now, but it is definitely not one and done.It does take a sense of humor to get through life.Think about your friends and relatives; it is giftable.

I gave this to my brother-in-law who is a very smart guy. He is a successful financial planner and often shares stories of his less informed clients. He laughed so hard when he opened this his face turned blue! He uses it every day but not at the office. It's a heavy cup and a decent size. A little more than what I would pay for a cup, but then the funny "quote" was worth the few extra bucks.
