If you want your lip balms/glosses/etc. to be thick, sticky, shiny, and water-resistant, polybutene works great. TKB is seemingly the only company that sells it in consumer-friendly portions (so glad it’s available on Amazon). The price is pretty good, depending on how much you plan to use in your project — for me, 5.5oz is plenty, but if I need more, I will be back! It’s INCREDIBLY sticky & messy, like waterproof molasses, so be super careful using it. I didn’t realize just how sticky it would be until I tried transferring it to a different container — I got some on my hands, and no soap would wash it off. Thankfully, as stated in my title, oil will work as a pre-soap solvent soap for whatever surface you get it on, including your hands (canola oil cooking spray did the trick for me). The only thing I’d want to change is the container, to something with a more precise, pointed cap — as-is, it’s very easy to overdo it. Overall definitely recommend :)
