I've owned a Smith Victor light since 1975. Extremely bright and very hot. I recommend never touching the bulb with your bare hands when installing. Skin oil will concentrate the heat and shorten the life of the bulb. You should be extremely careful using one of these lights. You could have a real bad day if someone trips over your light stand. If you exercise caution, this bulb puts out a reliable, powerful light source.Please be careful with this!

Our lamp at work needed a new bulb. These were an exact fit and are VERY bright, as you'd expect. We use it for supplemental lighting in a laboratory when doing delicate work, so use is limited and infrequent. As such, I can't speak for longevity real well. We have not been disappointed with them yet though.

I bought 2 of these. Both burned out within 4 hours of use. I did not bump or jar them or do anything to cause premature failure. Pretty disappointing given the price I paid.

These bulbs are almost always broken when I receive them or they blow right after turning them on for the first time
