Paperback copy is easy to carry and reference and the type is large ...
This is a must-have read for any pilot preparing for his or her instrument check ride. Not only does it cover information that would be in the Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge, it also covers info from the FARs and more importantly, the kinds of practical questions an examiner would ask in an oral exam that wouldn't necessarily be in the written exam. It gets you thinking about what other things to be prepared to be tested on. Paperback copy is easy to carry and reference and the type is large enough to read without aid. Decent price.

Great outline and primer for what you need to know for the IR Oral Exam
I used this book in combination with the ACS to create my study outline for my IR oral exam. As I worked through the outline I consulted the references provided in the Exam Guide for deeper understanding or discussed with my CFII. My IR examiner told me the oral exam went very well (I passed.)

Worth the price
Pretty good review. Bonus questions at the end of each section were good, but would have been better with an answer key. Some small errors, but overall a good guide.

Great guide to prepare for the oral
I passed my Instrument checkride yesterday and the oral was a breeze thanks to this guide. I recommend everyone go through each question one by one and create flash cards for the ones that give you the most problems. Hand writing and adding personal notes or drawings will really help you make sure the content sticks with you. Simply reading the book would not work as well in my opinion.

Excellent
This is the definitive guide to passing the IFR oral exam section of the checkride. It covers all aspects of the required knowledge base. I used it as a base from which to study by reading a few questions and then researching any material that was not completely clear in the answers given. It gives cross-references to FAR and AIM, so it is easy to go to the source in most cases. Bottom line: if you know the material in this manual, you will pass the oral exam. Recommend the "PTS Standards" to prepare for the practical part of the checkride.

I use this series for all of my checkrides. ...
I use this series for all of my checkrides. They contain a ton of information, a lot of which you will never be asked. I personally use this book to help memory aid a lot of items, and then for other stuff I didn't NEED to know, I made sure I marked it in the FAR/AIM so I could reference it if need be. Passed the instrument checkride on the first try and I really believe this book helped me do it.

Everyone needs to own these!
I've been using the OEG series ever since they came on the market years ago. I love the in depth thoroughness, it helps me make sure I really prep a student well. They are something every pilot should own, as they are a great study guide.
