This laptop is genuinely so terrible and the worst grand I ever spent in my life. I bought this February 2023 and looking at the specs, I was initially impressed by it, until I started expecting several issues once I got to use it more. The speakers kept malfunctioning and simply not working so a lot of the time I had to resort to AirPods. The touchpad seems shoddily manufactured as it keeps clicking on its own and also doesn’t respond to finger movements sometimes. This makes it beyond frustrating whenever the mouse clicks on something I don’t want it to because of the horrible touch pad. It also heats up way too quickly and the battery life is abysmal, it only holds a charge for a few hours. I wish I saw a lot of the negative reviews of this before I bought it, would’ve saved me £1,100. Do not buy this, it is not worth it especially for the price, you’re better off getting a MacBook.

I've been using the laptop for more than two years extensively. I found it incredibly good and handy. Battery time is perhaps the only shortcoming but I'm using it with an extension monitor that keeps it charging as well.

I purchased a DELL XPS 13 Plus from TEKShop on the 2nd of January 2024 for £1,399.99, expecting a brand-new computer with a full warranty. Initially, the device worked well and I was very happy with it. However, in December 2024, the screen turned black and suddenly stopped working. When I brought it to a repair shop, they refused to work on it until I confirmed the warranty status. To my shock, Dell informed me that the warranty had started on March 24th 2023 long before I even purchased the device, and expired on June24th 2024. Even more troubling, the technician discovered that the computer had previously been opened and worked on, as evidenced by a missing screw on the back and badly worn screws on the inside. This strongly suggests that TEKShop sold me a reconditioned or second-hand computer while advertising it as new. This raises serious concerns: 1. Warranty Issues: Who owned this computer between March 2023 (when the warranty began) and January 2024 (when I bought it)? 2. Misrepresentation: Was this computer reconditioned or used before being sold to me as new? While I loved the Dell XPS 13 Plus while it worked, this experience has left me feeling deceived and frustrated. If TEKShop is selling refurbished or pre-owned products, they should be transparent about it. I cannot recommend TEKShop to anyone based on this experience.

I ordered this laptop when it was £1400 - for this sort of cost, I do not expect the following problems: - A trackpad that does not work for 5 to 10 minutes from opening from sleep or turning completely on. A very common issue reported on Amazon reviews an in the manufacturer forums - Dell refuse to offer a fix and take responsibility for it. - Blue screen crashing when connected to a USB C / Thunderbolt docking station - happens on all brands of docking station - again, despite paying for extended support for 4 years, Dell are like talking to a brick wall and refuse to do anything about it. - Terrible battery life - lucky to get a couple of hours out of it, even when on lowest brightness mode and eco performance mode. - Gets super super hot, uncomfortably so - even when being conscious to keep the vents well clear of any clothing. - Despite both USB C ports on either side being rated for Thunderbolt, the one of the left-hand side results in slow data transfers and lag when connected to a dock like I am using a Hard Disk Drive based machine. Dell support response? Must be to do with the accessories I am using - nothing they can do about it. - Constant crashing of the IR face scanning - sometimes it never works, and other times it is stuck on for hours at a time flashing at my face. Very very disappointed in this laptop and I am looking to get rid, I will never return to the Dell brand after this experience, after years of quality from laptops and monitors.
