These are a solid paddle and a great value for the retail. They are light enough to be comfortable for me. They are the lowest bar I would accept, I think; not as heavy as some generic options but not light like carbon fiber, either. If you are in the shorter height range and just starting out, these will get you going.

So, I haver this paddle on my Xmas list. My wife makes the purchase and I get it at Xmas Day. I don't open the box, because it's winter. When I do finally open the box to get ready for my Kayak trip, I find I have been sent 2 right paddles. So not only will they not join in the middle, but I couldn't have used them anyway. I contact the company or place that filled this order. Never got a response. So what the heck, I go ahead and purchase it again because I really wanted this paddle. This time I got the right & the left paddle. Yay !! only now I still have 2 right side paddles I can do nothing with and wasted $$. I know accidents happen, but to just ignore it? Well, there ya go. I love the paddle. Nice weight and balance. Strong through the pull and easy effort... I recommend the paddle, just be careful when ordering and check it immediately, in case.

I've used more expensive paddles, but I have not seen a significant difference between the two. If you're looking for usable paddle and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is a great alternative. Build quality is good (aluminum pole), lightweight, floats, provides good propulsion even with decent technique, and value makes this a great paddle for your consideration. If you're looking for a touring paddles, I would recommend you spend a little more for something lighter, but for general use even as a primary paddle, this is more than sufficient for your needs. Overall, I would recommend this product.

I got this for a peddle kayak strictly for pushing off and in case the prop stops working to give me a backup to the peddles. Not going to be as good as high end ultralight carbon fiber paddles obviously....but it's sturdy and very good for a low cost everyday paddle to a nearby fishing spot or for a slow ramble down a stream. Well made for the purpose I have in mind.

Paddles were just as described. Ordered them in yellow for their visability and the Paddle itself is firm so I know it wont bend while in use. The pole is light and the grip feels solid. I like the 2 piece design, one less failure point compared to the 3 piece. You can't go wrong with these.

The Pelican Poseidon Paddle is lightweight and easy to handle. The aluminum shaft feels sturdy, and the reinforced fiberglass blades work well for casual kayaking. Adjustable and portable, it’s perfect for recreational use. The only downside is the blades flex a bit under strong strokes, but overall it’s a solid, reliable paddle.

Great paddles, light weight and function very well

With a budget of around $50 CAD. My main priorities were that it had to be lightweight and easy to paddle with, have a nice design, include drip rings, and not be made of cheap plastic. I preferred aluminum or something stronger. This was the only brand I found in this price range that uses fibreglass for the paddle blades which is amazing!

The quality is good for the price point. If you are looking for a basic paddle, then this is a good option. It should be said that Intermediate and Advanced paddlers may not be happy with this for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it is heavier than the composite paddles and secondly it is just a straight paddle. There are no ergonomic bends in the shaft. This is fine for casual day use but would be a show stopper for longer trips. I purchased as a spare paddle to attach to the kayak in the event that I lose my primary paddle. For that purpose, it is perfect.

Worked great on my couple last trip, and they are close to indestructible. Love them. Bonus point cause orange :)
