I bought this thinking it might interest my cat in drinking more water during a recovery period where his kidney numbers weren't what they needed to be. He was actually getting IV fluids during this time. I thought the fresh "running" water would be attractive to him. (This is a cat that will drink from the toilet if allowed. : / ) Apparently I was wrong! Despite keeping fresh filtered water in the unit, and trying different locations around the house for over a week, he pretty much ignored it, and never even tried it once, preferring a regular stainless bowl of the same water just sitting there instead! (After "stirring" it with his paw first of course!) Cats! Go Figure! But I was impressed with the unit itself! It was clean looking and Stainless Steel like his other food / water dishes, which is just my preference for keeping his containers clean. It was easy to assemble, easy to clean, and ran quietly when plugged in. ( I tried it running, AND unplugged! He wasn't interested! ) I was kind of disappointed it didn't interest him. And he's fully recovered now. But Amazon returns made it very easy to package back up and return for a refund! Nothing wrong with the unit, just useless if my cat wouldn't use it! But it's a great design and works as shown, with easy maintenance! Good Product! Good luck!

This works for what we need, being a small source of moving water for a kitten that we need to keep separate from the rest of the house. But, having a lot of experience with filtration systems for koi ponds and aquariums, it’s important to note that the filter pad provided, containing four compartments, half activated charcoal and half some kindof exchange resin, will quickly become useless and perhaps even harmful. Water will follow the path of least resistance and there is nothing stopping the water, which is only being pulled across the filter pad by gravity, from flowing around the pad rather than through the very dense fabric containing the chemical filtration stages. Especially after just a little bit of biofilm or detritus build up on the filter pad, at that point all it will do is provide very little surface area for water-purifying bacteria to colonize, and that is already provided by the open cell sponge pads in the filter, those are less likely to clog and channel water. There are activated charcoal imbued open cell sponges for fish tanks that can be bought and cut to size that would do the job MUCH BETTER. Of course, you should keep your cat’s water bowl clean. It’s not a fish tank, so filtration isn’t a priority, it’s just an extra layer of precaution incase you slack off on cleaning it.

The water fountain is quiet. my cats love it. they drink out of it all the time and it's simple and easy to change the filters

So I long story short I was dog sitting for my mom who has a Pomeranian and at her house he has a water fountain so when I was watching him cuz she had surgery he was at my house and I had a regular dog bowl and I kept put in water and then he wasn't drinking his water and I'm like dude why aren't you drinking this water So I was like I got to get this doctor drink some water and I remember it at home he has a fountain so I was like hey he's going to be with me for a couple weeks let me order this phone and when I tell you I got this fountain and it was awesome it was easy to put together fill up plug it in it just starts working plugged in and put it over there by his his food and when I tell you soon as I walked away he was over there drinking the water I was so thankful cuz I was worried about him so much cuz he's my little puppy brother but it got him to drink the water I I don't know if it because it made it feel like it was home for him or if it's just something to this running water thing I read somewhere where dogs like running water like they drink from fountain so anyway long story short it's a good little fountain works great for him I'm sure it will work good for dogs that are like small to medium size you might want to get a bigger one for a bigger dog but I know it's listed as a cat fountain or whatever but he's a Pomeranian so he's small and he liked it So now he has a phone at my house as well as at my mama's house at his own house so if you're looking at it you got this far it's worth it to buy it cuz they will drink the water Oh and it does have a filtration system in it so the water is being filtered so the water they're getting is actually cleaner than just putting it in the bowl even though I was using bottled water but it's it was just sitting out so this is flowing water so it's not getting all that stuff in it and it goes through a filter so even though I use bottled water it still went through a filter instead of just sitting there getting dust and stuff in it so get get the water fountain It's cute if the water flows it you have a little fountain in your house just get it Just go ahead and buy it put it in the cart buy it

I loved this fountain for about six months, but now I'm having to replace it. Pros: - Easy to clean - stainless steel! - Cats love it! - Quiet with no annoying light display - Contains enough water for roughly 2 weeks with 3 cats. Cons: - The main con for this might be more of a "Me" problem, but my youngest cat is able to remove the lid on this... He pops the lid off and can dump the entire fountain in minutes. He's super small, so I feel like the fountain should be a little sturdier. I wish this fountain came with a clamp of some kind to keep the lid in place! - Perhaps as a result of my troublesome cat, the motor died! I had two of these, both purchased at the same time, and the motors died within weeks of each other. We purchased replacement motors from this brand, but they didn't fit! So I'll be picking out a new fountain.

I took in a neonatal kitten recently, and though she isn't on solid food yet, she likes to drink at the fountain. First, let me say, this cat water foundtain is great, I can see and feel that it is made from great material, very durable, hygienic, and easy to clean as well, you can even put it in your dishwasher. I've had it for a one month, I love that the fountain has a water quantity notice design, which allows me to see how much water is inside, so I can judge when I should add water into fountain. It's so quiet enough, my kitten really enjoys drinking from this fountain, Plus it’s super cute watching him drink from it. Also it's easy to put together, and filter replacements are inexpensive and easy to find. If you are looking for a great cate water fountain, just get this one, it's amazing!

Our cats didn't care if we used this or a bowl but that doesn't effect my review. It is very quiet but does require continuous preventative maintenance to work properly. Whether changing filters or cleaning it. Is a bit complicated to put together every time you need to dismantle it.
