I've had some serious bad luck with store bought grinders. From being too hard to twist to to hard to adjust to the breaking of the grinder top while I'm using it and dousing whatever I'm making in salt or pepper. It's been a hard knock relationship for sure. I've had hard plastic ones, wooden ones, and glass ones... all one failure after another. Then I saw these on amazon when I looked up clear glass salt and pepper grinders. I thought, for the price, that they were very nice looking and the pictures let me see how big they were. The Amazon reviews had a lot of pictures as well and those reviews actually sealed the deal for me. If so many people liked them enough to take pictures and write paragraph after paragraph, then this must be a product worth trying. They came in nice packaging and with a thank you note, which I think is just great. I even got a cute collapsible funnel. After the initial cleaning, I quickly put them to work. Opened those horrible plastic grinders I'd been using and throwing them away. I filled the new ones and tested the grind. What a relief. These weren't hard to turn at all! The initial setting they came with was perfect for me, very fine for salt and a lil more course for the pepper. I didn't even have to adjust them but I did. And that was easy too. They are very stylish and fit prefectly in my hand - not top or bottom heavy at all, they feel balanced. I've only had them for two weeks but just about everyone who cooks in the house has had a chance to try them and they love them too. It's nice when you find a quality product at a value price. I happily recommend this product to everyone, especially those with hand pain or weakness.

Just received these 2 grinders and they both work GREAT !! Easy to load with salt & pepper, prefect grinds and, they look very nice on our dining table…..

*EDIT* The seller reached out to me and helped me out. So changing my rating for that. As for the grinders update. The pepper grinder is still going strong but the salt one isn't fairing so well. I'm starting to see the issue that the first one had but a little slower damage to the nubs. I think it's just the softer plastic is no match for grinding salt (or possibly anything harder than a peppercorn) over time. Larger nubs or a harder plastic would solve the issue and I would definitely say this was a 5 star set. Initially out of the box the grinders look great. I started using them and they worked pretty well. But the salt grinder stopped working. Now you might assume it's because I wasn't taking care of it or cleaning it. Well they include a nice little brush to brush away the salt between uses and I use it. Two things failed on the salt grinder. Well one that caused the other. When you take it apart there is a ring that snaps in to keep it all snug. Well I noticed it fail very early on, the first use. I thought nothing of it and put it back into place. Well as of today it totally failed and no longer works. On the inside when you take out all the bits you see there is two plastic nubs to hold the outer ring in place they broke, or rather flattened out. So now the salt grinder no longer works.

This is a nice set of salt and pepper shakers. I like the style of the shakers and having a lid to cover grinder area to help keep it clean. I like that I can control the salt and pepper size being grinned. Simple and easy to adjust. Easy to clean especially with the brush provided and the funnel makes it easy to fill without making a mess. I recommend this set for any household looking for a non electric salt and pepper shakers!

These are so perfect. Ergonomic, beautiful. They feel great in your hand, simple design where you can see the level of product inside. They grind phenomenally and evenly and have been working great for me for a while now.

I am very happy with these grinders. They do exactly exactly what they're supposed to do. Aside from their large size, which requires less frequent refilling (but requires extra room in the cupboard due to the product's height), the other reason I bought these is that the size of the ground pepper is adjustable, although it would have been nice if there had been enough instructions to explain how to do it. Look for the series of black dots (from small to large) on the dial inside the grinder head. They're hard to see on the dial since it too is black. If you want more coarse pepper, turn in the direction of the larger dots. For fine pepper, turn toward the smaller dots. Don't overturn, though. Otherwise, you'll have either completely closed the grinder or the dial will unscrew from the grinder. Regardless of the direction turned, there's no risk that you'll break the grinder. You should be able to figure it out if you fiddle with the dial long enough. It would help if the dots on the dial weren't the same color as the plastic of the dial itself. For day-to-day use, it would also be nice if there was a visible arrow somewhere for which way to turn the grinder to grind pepper. I still haven't committed it to memory, so I have to be careful not to turn it in the wrong direction. One direction is for grinding, the other is to separate the grinder head from the jar where the pepper corns are, which you only do to refill the jar. Needless to say, you don't want to turn in the wrong direction while you're holding the grinder upside down to pepper your food. Those are mostly minor nuisances, so I only dinged the product one star for ease of use, but still consider them a five-star product.
