Bought this to replace a cheaper artfone model which is starting to buzz and has crackling on line in use. The functions available like camera, texting won't be used I think but the emergency button will be a boon and the clear sound of ringer and sound at the earpiece is very good (according to mum) and she says it sounds clear. Set up is a doddle and although I haven't set it yet, the phone can be set to HAC, hearing aid compatible for clearer hearing with hearing aids especially in surround ambient noise. Hopefully we'll get her to carry it with her when she goes out, not just a home phone. Over time I'll show her the camera and texting but I'm not too worried if she doesn't get it. Nice phone, decent price, good functions but good loud sound it what we needed.

There were a few features I was looking for that were a must, as this was for my elderly mother-in-law. But top line summary is this 'senior' phone ticked all the boxes I needed to have. ✅️ contact dialing is SO simple... press the 'contacts' button (top right button), then use the center button to move up/down the contacts list, once the contact is highlighted just press the green button... if there is just one number then contact number is dialled as soon as the green button is pressed, if there is mobile and home numbers entered under the contact then you just use up/down button to highlight the number and then press the green button. To save my mother-in-law having to choose and save on key presses, we set up all her contacts with individual contact entries for home and mobile. This is the simplest menu structure I have come across and even my mother-in-law can use it... ✅️ Press contacts button > highlight contact (up/down key) > press green button to dial ... it doesn't get any more simple than that. ✅️ you can ⭐️ 10 contacts so they appear at the top of the contacts list. ✅️ has ICE as the 1st contact... essential to store medical information and emergency contacts for blue light emergency services... it's the first place they will look. ✅️ loudness of in-call volume... awesome, for the first time ever my mother-in-law actually said, 'that's loud' ... never thought I would ever hear her say that 🤣 ✅️ ring volume... we set to ringtone 7 (there are only 7 as default), which is a normal phone ringing ringtone and the ringing volume was great, easy for my mother-in-law to hear...and let's just say her hearing isn't that good, but she can hear this. You could add more ringtones, but will need to be done/transferred with the phone connected to a PC. ✅️ nice big buttons with large figures. ✅️ has a 5 contact assistant button... but we have not used this feature as my mother-in-law has an assistance necklace button alarm linked to the assistance/emergency system. ✅️ the overall menu system is pretty good and easy to use... didn't have to read the manual once. ✅️ it's 4G... this was an absolute must, 2G is now so old that it won't be long before the 2G frequency is shut down and used for some other technology. ✅️ has a good old fashion 3.5mm audio socket. ✅️ love the phone being white... makes it stand out and easy for my mother-in-law to see/find ✅️ the charging cradle works really, just plug the charging cable into the cradle and the just slot the phone in. ✅️ comes with a charger, but can be charged directly by connecting any micro-USB cable. ✅️ if I were to want/need a basic phone to make/receive calls and text messages, then I personally would now get one of these 5860s... I was that impressed with it. Overall, at £68.48 (August 2023), I would say that is a great price, well made and extremely easy to use. A definite and easy 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all day long and would definitely recommend.

The Doro 5860 is very easy to set up and use. It has decent build quality and seems reliable. Its intended customers (mostly seniors) are likely to be very satisfied with this phone without frills. You can turn off the Talking Keys function if you don't want it. The camera is barely adequate.

The doro 5680 is an excellent basic phone, it's the closest thing you'll get to a landline. Great battery life, clear calls being 4g, ever so simple to use, nice clear display, loudspeaker too. You can use custom ringtones when transfered from the computer or Bluetooth. The charging cradle accommodates the phone perfectly. A very good basic phone that's a great alternative to a landline phone.

I absolutely love this phone. Simple, basic, and doesn't interfere with your daily life by bleeping at you the whole time and distracting you. This is my daily use phone now after years of iPhones. Complete digital detox and I couldn't be happier. Nice big buttons, large font onscreen, simple OS. Battery life is great. And it's cheap to replace if I drop it! The only thing I miss is not having WhatsApp but it's a small price to pay for a quiet life once more. Thank you Doro.
