Nice sturdy glass mugs!
I love these glass mugs! They are verified lead free by Lead Safe Mamma! All arrived unbroken and we use them daily for tea, pouring boiling water into them. We wash them in the dishwasher and haven't had any damages or cracking. They seem thick and sturdy. There is a little seam on the handle which might bug some people, but it isn't enough to bother me and doesn't hurt my hand while holding it. I've also used them in the microwave. We replaced our ceramics out with these glass mugs and it looks more modern now. The glass is a beautiful touch since it doesn't crack or show any stains and the tea looks appealing in them.

Best mugs
These are our favorite mugs. They are a good size, easy to hold with no sharp edges, good for coffee and tea, and they say they're lead free.

"I's a-muggin'..." (Charles Mingus lyric)
Summary: These are attractive, microwave-safe, generously sized mugs. Clearly, they're pleasing to use because you can see your tea brewing or your coffee and milk mixing. However, since they're glass, sudden temperature changes (such as pouring boiling water into a cold mug) can crack them.*******************************************My mug story: Quite a few years ago, I bought a bottle of Kahlua that included a great promo item: one of these Libbey mugs (with the L on the bottom) featuring a white imprint of the Kahlua logo. I started using that mug all the time because I liked being able to see my drink. It reminded me of some smaller glass mugs (with a white imprint of a world map...perhaps from Rand McNally) that my mom has had for as long as I can remember. And I appreciated that glass avoids the risks associated with some ceramic glazes. In addition, I liked the mug's bold shape, size, and weight. For me, it was the perfect mug. The seams didn't bother me much, although I always wondered how the two halves were fused together. For several years, I used that mug, most often for my morning health drink: Filling it with room-temperature water from my Brita pitcher, I heated it on the "Beverage 3" setting of my microwave (about 4 minutes) and then added some sliced fresh ginger, a lemon ice cube (I get lemons at Costco and squeeze them into ice cube trays), several Goji berries, and a few drops of therapeutic-grade lemon oil.Over time, the mug stayed nice and clear; it didn't fog at all. I regularly put it in the dishwasher without issue. And because I heated beverages gradually, in the microwave, the glass didn't crack. I never had a problem until one fateful recent day when I used the mug to heat water to make tea in a different mug. The other mug is larger, and I didn't have quite enough water, so I started pouring more room-temperature water into the glass mug to heat a bit more. I immediately thought better of this because the mug was still very hot. However, as I reached to empty the cold water out of the hot mug, I realized that, alas, it was too late: I heard it before I saw it...crackle, crack, crackle, crack, crackle (not at the seam but as multiple fractures elsewhere). Arghhh!I was happy to find a replacement Libbey Kahlua mug on eBay and have had no issues...but because I like it so much, I decided to splurge on the set of six here, even though it seemed a tad pricey (just under $30 when I ordered) and I don't really need that many, especially given that they don't stack well in the cupboard. Shame that Libbey or the seller doesn't offer sets of two or four.My set arrived today in a small box with cardboard dividers inside a larger box with some other items. No bubble wrap, no Styrofoam, no paper, just miscellaneous items rattling around in a big box. Luckily, none were broken, but the Libbey box was partially open and the mugs were very dusty, which I found a little weird. I soaked them for a few minutes in warm soapy water, and the labels on the bottom came off easily. (Why they're labeled individually is beyond me since they're not sold that way.) As for how they hold up over time, I'll update this review if they stand up to use any differently than the Kahlua mugs. However, since they're exactly the same mugs, I can't imagine I'll have any problem as long as I avoid sudden temperature changes.Speaking of which, because sudden temperature changes can easily crack glass (as evidenced by my unfortunate experience with pouring room-temperature water into a hot glass mug), I gather that heating water in a glass mug gradually via the microwave is actually safer than pouring boiling water into a cold glass mug (especially if the room temperature is cool). Cheers!

Great Buy!
We got these mugs back in January 2012. After more than a year and several unfortunate dropping accidents, they are still standing quite strong. There are some scratches on them, but how many glasses do you know that can survive several drops on the kitchen's hardwood floors? Well, these do and you can compare them with more expensive HercuGlass Mugs. The only negative part about these mugs, in my opinion, is the weight. They can get quite heavy when you fill them up with tea or coffee. It took me about 2 months to get used to the new weight, and at first it was quite a workout compare to other mugs. Now, other mugs feel just like feather! When I was researching these mugs, the HercuGlass name came up a few times. You can view them from this link: 4 PAK: Ultra Break-Resistant 15.5 oz. Glass Bistro Mugs: Strengthened by HercuGlass . They are more expensive, and they come in pack of 4. Libbey comes in pack of six and is about 40% cheaper, so it was a no brainer for me. However, depending on your needs, you may want to check HercuGlass reinforced mugs too.Apart from the weight, these are high quality mugs. We have had a lot of different mugs in the last 12 years, including French made somewhat famous Arcoroc's, and I can say confidently that these Libbey mugs are among the best. Their 15 oz. size is about 1.5 times the size of other standard mugs we have, which is quite a bonus. If you don't mind a little extra weight, you will enjoy these mugs and their clear form a lot.

These are GREAT mugs!
Love these mugs. I have bought two more boxes. They are a nice clear glass. Classic style. Hold a big cup with room at the top to avoid spilling. Go with all my different dishes. Guests like them. Nice to hold with the slightly curved sides. Handles are good for all size hands, my husband likes the handles. Not a girly mug, haha, but women seem to like them too. Nice graceful but classic style, size and function. Kids can use the handles too. The sloped sides make it easy to grip. Good solid feel to them. Nice thickness and weight. Have not broken any yet and they are carried about, clunked together, put in sink etc. Go through dishwasher like a dream. Suggest you use Cascade Platinum on all glass as any glass will etch in time if you have hard water or fill with acidic drinks such as strong tea, juice, coffee. These have held up to daily use and dishwashing for a year. A number of guests have commented they like the mugs. One reviewer mentioned a seam on the side of them. Yes, it's there. It's not hand blown crystal or $20 apiece mug, so they were made in a mold. I like the seam as it is smooth and part of the overall style of this mug, it's symmetrical and straight, and to me, is like design. I'm pretty picky about glassware and the seam doesn't bother me.

Great Mugs
We really like these mugs. They are sturdy, easy to clean, and you don't have to worry about lead in your coffee mug. We've been using them every day for months now and they seem to hold up nice. The handles are nice and large and you can enjoy a 12-15 ounce of coffee in the glass, no problem.
