One of the best toys I bought in a while
The media could not be loaded. This RC car s one of the best toys I bought in a while. My son and I had a blast playing with it. We built a little obstacle course on the beach, and this monster truck handled it like a real pro. I even made a short video to demonstrate what got me so impressed.Construction: 5 stars (out of 5)Let's start with the wheels made from real rubber and get an equally good grip on any surface (floor, concrete, sand). Both axels (front and rear) have motors in them, and this car as close to real All-Wheel Drive as a toy can get. Tiny electric motors have enough torque to get the vehicle through any reasonable obstacle. Then suspension, an actual independent suspension with small springs. The car is made of quality plastic, but the roof, doors, and hood made of metal. The icing on this monster cake is 4 LED projectors on the top that make it look even more realistic.Power: 4 starsIt comes with two batteries. It takes only one to operate, and each battery gives about 45 minutes of driving. So, your kid probably will get tired of playing it before it runs out of juice. There is a USB cord to charge the battery, and it takes about 2 hours to have it fully charged (I didn't time it). One star off because it could have a better design. To change the battery, you need to unscrew the battery compartment door (the screwdriver comes in a kit but do you want to carry it with you?). I would love to see USB-C or MicroUSB port mounted right on the car to make this car perfect. I'm thinking of modifying it myself someday.Controls: The remote is lightweight and straightforward, just what a child needs. To sum it all up, if you want to delight your kid and embrace your inner child sometimes, get it! It is well designed and made of quality materials and will provide many hours of fun playtime.

Rugged Little Monster Truck
The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my sons and they've given it a thorough testing in the last week. It has been in the pool three times, went down the stairs twice, and they've took it through the roughest terrain that we could find. The truck handled great over grass, rocks, and even a sand hill. It is still running like new, even after all the tumbles it has taken. I wasn't happy about the beating it has taken, and it isn't advertised as waterproof, but the point is that it can take quite a lot of punishment and keep going strong. I guess the boys saw the big tires and that it was a monster truck, so they figured it was indestructible. I wouldn't go that far, but it isn't far off. This truck is a lot of fun, especially at night. The LED headlights shine bright and make it easy to see where the truck is going. The battery has a long life- the boys left it sitting outside for hours without using it, and it still had juice left when we tried to use it later.Really only a couple of minor downsides in that the control took some getting used to for my boys and I wish the turning radius was tighter. However, for the durability, affordability, and headlights at night- this truck is a great value that will provide hours of fun for our family.

**UPDATE** Decent Toy, Very Impressive Customer Service
**Updated**My kids have been abusing the truck for several months now and am very impressed by its durability. Everything I wrote prior to the update remains true, but this thing has gone down the stairs, off the kitchen table, and smashed into things more times than I can count but it has been remarkably resilient. When my kids finally managed to break one of the front drive components by literally tackling the truck, the seller actually replaced the entire truck! I was hoping they'd send me a new part and I could do the surgery myself, but no- they replaced the entire thing outright! I was skeptical at first but the durability of the truck and the above and beyond customer service made me change my rating from 2 stars up to 4!Also, to help salvage the original (broken) truck I just removed the front axle making it 2-wheel drive instead of 4. The truck seems faster now and is much more maneuverable since the front wheels can turn independently of each other, greatly tightening the turning radius.**I have a few hobby-grade RCs and bought this for my 3.5 year-old so she can play with her own "hobbyist model". My expectations were relatively low given the price point, but based on all of the positive reviews I was expecting this to be much better. I chose this model because it has what I consider a "normal" style controller (a trigger and steering wheel, as opposed to two control sticks like many other "toy" models) and very positive reviews. My pros & cons are listed below:PROs:Pistol-style transmitter. This is the style used by hobby-grade cars and I wanted to familiarize my daughter with this style of controller.Durability. My daughter has smashed this into every stationary object in the house and has taken it down a few stairs as well. Shockingly nothing has broken yet.Size. The truck itself is small, but a good size for inside play without worrying about damaging anything or hurting anybody. The controller is small enough for a small child's hand.Fun. My daughter loves it, which at the end of the day, is exactly what I wanted.Cons:Controller. The controller is awful and feels extremely cheap. There isn't a light to indicate whether the controller is on or off so it's very easy to accidentally leave it on. The throttle is either on or off- there is nothing in between so you cannot vary your speed at all. The same is true for the steering- either full turn or no turn, nothing in between.Maneuverability. Despite it's tiny size, this truck unfortunately has a huge turning radius making it nearly impossible to maneuver inside. Also, as noted above, its speed is either all or nothing. Not being able to drive slowly (or steer) makes it extra difficult to control in smaller areas.Overall I would not recommend this toy. It looks pretty cool and my daughter likes it but it feels more like a $20 toy at best.
