This is a don’t-miss debut.” -Carolyn Haines, USA Today bestselling author of Pluto’s Snitch and Sarah Booth Delaney Macey Malloy is on the run from her ruthless cult-leader father, desperate to escape him and his violent enforcers. A brutal murder shatters her hard-won life. Her mask is ripped off, revealing her true identity—and leaving her the prime suspect in the killing. Now Macey must evade both the relentless assassin and the man obsessed with bloody vengeance—her powerful father. Out of time and out of options, Macey reluctantly joins forces with two unexpected allies who make her pulse race with steamy attraction—and exasperating annoyance. Vince, a charismatic, relentless bloodhound of a detective, digs up more than just clues to the vicious murder. Brett, a fun-loving pathologist with a morbid sense of humor, wields his have-fart-machine-will-travel like a weapon, leaving imaginary fumes—and very real infuriation—in his wake. Adding to the chaos is Wikket, Macey’s massive black cat. Her feline partner in crime is packed with courage, curiosity, and crankiness. Wikket leaps into the fray with his fangs, claws—and his get-the-hell-back cat glare. Can Macey outsmart a merciless killer, dodge a bloodthirsty cult, and guard her heart...all without losing her life?
