Penhaligon'sPortraits The Coveted Duchess Rose Eau de Parfum - 75 ml

I smelled this back in January on a trip to EPCOT and couldn't stop thinking about it, so after months of having it on my mind, I made the splurge and bought it for myself as a wedding gift. This is a rose perfume unlike any other. The rose absolute is exquisite and not too common in many perfumes because it is such an expensive oil. This is a richer, more mature rose scent. The closest thing to it I am familiar with is LUSH's rose argan bar soap or Rose Jam shower gel, which are also quite pricey due to their use of Rose Absolute.This perfume recently went up in MSRP from $250 to $270, so if you can get it for $250 anywhere still, it's worth it. I got mine from Lucky Scent; I researched a bit to make sure this company sells legit product. I have no complaints with my bottle although the requirement for sending via ground (because it's a liquid) meant it came via UPS and obviously spent some time in a very hot van... when my perfume arrived the label had began to peel off the bottle and will no longer stick to it. It's not a big thing but of course for a $250 bottle of perfume, I would have liked it to be flawless.Overall this perfume is magnificent and worth the splurge if you've smelled it and love it. I've looked for other rose perfumes similar to this and it's difficult to find a match. If you're looking for something close, check out Kate Spade In Full Bloom Blush. The scent doesn't last as long but it has the rose and woodsy notes that make the coveted duchess rose so unique and gorgeous.

Smells so good

This scent is a true standout. It's not sickeningly sweet like some cheaper imitations, and the additional woody notes in it keep it earthy, rich and smooth. More than any other perfume I've owned, I get asked frequently what it is - even hours after having put it on, so I know it's still noticeable later in the day. Duchess Rose is a strong favorite among the Portraits scent collection this company makes, and for good reason. I used to wear several different less expensive scents, with no real loyalty to one in particular. I enjoyed trying something new every few months. Now that I own this one, I'm hooked. Don't let the price scare you too much either - it's a bit of a splurge, but if you can afford it you'll find that it's well worth the $$, both because of the quality and the use you'll get out if it. Because it's a powerful, well made perfume, just one or two sprays in the morning are enough to last. I'm only now needing to get another bottle, and I purchased the last one back in early 2017 -- that's with near-daily use. The price here is compatible with the Penhaligon site, although the company's mailing list does offer the very occasional sale.Penhaligon has a long history and the customer service to match - if you get the opportunity to visit one of thier locations, definitely do it. They have a very wide scent library, so there's a lot to choose from. Their products are high quality, and the staff I've encountered are extremely knowledgeable and friendly.It's difficult to shop for a new perfume online, since you'll want to really know what it smells like in person, but if you don't have any of their shops near you, Penhaligon does offer less expensive samples on their website. You can order these from them if you're not ready to commit to a whole bottle. Also available is a sampler of some of their most popular options.

Perfume arrived damaged. Sprayer was dislodged and bent and box was damaged as well! $235 for this perfume!!

Smell like wear the roses on body..even the sample they sent to me, smells good.

This is my absolute favorite fragrance ever.It is well worth the price!Very feminine and soft, yet memorable.The quality and long lasting scent is excellent.I have never had more compliments on a fragrance than Duchess Rose.First found this in a fabulous shop in Savanna that sells only products from UK.It was in a penhaligon sampler.The only down side is price but it’s so worth it!!
