Product Description We're back in an all-new movie, eh? Beauty. And not just us moose, but the large bear (that's Kenai) and his little brother bear (that's Koda) and also this new girl named Nita. She's a handful, eh? Nita knew Large Bear way back when he wasn't a bear. That was in the first movie, remember? Anyway, they thought they were gonna be together forever even though they get along like two angry beavers in a mud hut. Okay, so now the Great Spirits say they have to go on a great big, exciting journey to break the pact. So don't trample off. Join me and my brother -- oh, and there's a couple fetching moosettes in this story too -- for all sorts of laughs and wild adventure. (See what I did. I used the word "wild" 'cause we're out in the woods.) Beauty. It's gonna be tons of fun for the whole family, eh? .com The bonds of true friendship and love are powerful enough to persist through even the most extreme circumstances, but can even the strongest bond endure when a young man and a young woman are split apart by the spirits? Since being turned into a bear as punishment for his insensitivity in Brother Bear, Kenai has managed to find true happiness and a compelling sense of purpose in his new relationship with his adopted brother Koda. But when Kenai's old friend Nita prepares for her wedding day with another man, the spirits send a sign indicating that a strong connection still exists between Kenai and Nita. The tribe Shaman suggests that the two join forces in a ritual to sever the bond between them and Nita, newly endowed with the ability to communicate with animals, seeks out Kenai in the woods. Even as the two friends resolutely journey to break the connection between them, the inescapable bond between them strengthens and threatens to disrupt not only Nita's upcoming marriage, but the special relationship between Kenai and Koda. In the end, destiny may require that each of the three choose between his or her happiness and the happiness of the other two. Like its predecessor Brother Bear, Brother Bear 2 features lush animation; a nice blend of action, suspense, and comedy; and a powerful message. (Ages 3 - 12) --Tami Horiuchi

Very good music driven harmony with nature film of bears and Inuits
This is a straight to video animated movie that should have been distributed in theatres. A sequel to Brother Bear (2003), it is surprisingly very good, the drawing is excellent, and has a story that holds up. However, the moose are irritating distractions. I thought the film would be a stinker with the blurb on the case written from the point of view of the moose, but the film turned out to be a much better experience. One problem is that Nita occasionally resembles Disney's Mulan a bit too closely. Inuit and Chinese may be related, but here she looked too much like Mulan. There was an interesting motif about Nita's hydrophobia, but Kenai managed to cure her of that, followed by an interesting sequence where they are both journeying under water. The film, like the first one, has a magic realism of a close harmony of nature, the spirits, and mankind. On occasion the film is sentimental but is also warm and full of tolerance and understanding. Some viewers would want more conflict, but this is a G rated family film, so any tense scenes are written down to a safe level. Even the times the characters fall down waterfalls is resolved so no one is really hurt. The scariest scenes come when Kenai is chased by Nita's betrothed, a hunter warrior. And it is here that Nita realizes she wants to be with Kenai as his mate. Nita is voiced by Many Moore, who later did Rapunzel in Disney's Tangled. The only extras here are a documentary on the music by Melissa Etheridge. I would have like to see a behind the microphone documentary and see interviews with the voice actors instead. However, the producers and directors believe the music drove the creation of the story and the music came early in the making of the film. Often music is done last, but not here. Here music was done during the early storyboarding, so the plot was in fact directed by the music. At any rate, a very good film, worth seeing many times, and a pity it went straight to video..

Excellent!
It’s a great film like the first one! What I mean is since I’ve watched the first ‘Brother Bear’ with closed captions, it shows the names of whoever’s singing which songs!

Good sequel to the first
I liked it almost as much as the first one...I was a little disappointed that Kenai wasn't played by the same actor, but Patrick Dempsey I guess still did a good job. I just really like Joaquin Phoenix's performance better in the first movie. I like these kinds of movies because of the meanings that are written within the storyline and them having a positive impact for a person's life. I did Love the music especially one particular song by Melissa Etheridge...It will be me. It truly effected me emotionally, as well as the storyline that led up to it's cuing up in the movie. All in all, This one wasn't quite as impactful to me as Brother Bear, but it was still a good sequel.
