Hoosier Hill Farm Coarse Pretzel Salt, 2LB (Pack of 1)

This salt was a great value in the large container. It has great functionality because I have many uses for this salt besides on pretzels. Of course, it is fabulous on pretzels, just the right coarseness, texture, and flavor. The container keeps the salt fresh.

Man, i love a soft pretzel. I made them once at home but used normal kosher salt; the result was disappointing. For my second attempt I was determined to use actual pretzel salt. No local stores carry it (this is LA, why not?) so I was forced to choose between a comically large 5-lb or 2-lb container on Amazon. I chose the 2-lb container simply because it would take up less pantry space. Making soft pretzels at home is somewhat of an undertaking, but when the urge for a soft pretzel strikes, it helps to have the right salt. The pretzels were great, ant the salt was just right; tasted like the ones at the mall. My only mistake was thinking I could put the leftovers in a ziploc bag and save them for later. No. The salt dissolved. Next time, if I have leftover pretzels, I will moisten and then salt them right before eating.

We bought this to make pretzels. The salt is great. Our pretzels were not. Highly recommend the salt, but find a good pretzel recipe.

We made pretzels for the first time for our friends’ Octoberfest Party. After searching the interwebs for recipes and tips, I discovered a fairly common theme that kosher salt and sea salt melt on pretzels. This salt is the real deal! Our pretzels were delicious and a huge hit - in large part because of the crunchy salt. It tastes great and looks great! And if you are looking for a great recipe, check out Alton Browns recipe! He uses baking soda instead of lye, and the results were fantastic!

There are many things masquerading as pretzel salt on Amazon, and this is not one of them. This is actual pretzel salt, not kosher salt with a pretzel label. I'm a developer by trade, but I make a few dozen pretzels a week. The problem wish kosher salt is that it absorbs moisture. After a day or so, or given some humidity, pretzels will turn into sludge with regular salt. This is the salt you need in order to not send your friends and coworkers piles of sludge as it does not readily absorb moisture.

This two pound bucket really does weigh 2 lbs but is smaller than you’d expect 2 lbs of salt to look like haha. It was perfect for the homemade soft pretzels I made for my husband’s birthday party and everyone loved them. While no one commented on the salt specifically, I felt it made the pretzels look more authentic. I made about 50 pretzels and did not even put a dent in the amount of salt in this container and have a lot more left. It is reasonably priced, compared to other quantities for sale but I wish there was an even smaller version available.

This is a review for the Hoosier Hill Farm Coarse Pretzel Salt, 2 lbs. After reading reviews about different brands, this one seemed to be a winner, and as luck would have it, it was great! It came quickly and was packaged well. I have no other reason to use any other brand of salt for my pretzels. These by the way were my first ever pretzels and they turned out splendidly!! (If I say so myself) I have enough pretzel salt to use on my pretzels for the next 10 years now.. LOL

The salt arrived quickly and was well packaged. We made our pretzels and this salt behaved and tasted exactly as we hoped. The price was relatively inexpensive for a decent volume of salt. I will happily order again when the time comes.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Went to Bulk Barn and nothing was quite right. This will last for a long time.

I made three batches of bread in a row with this on it for husband, he loves this stuff and I think it is pretty good too.

Use on homemade pretzels. Delish!
