This incredible primer is imported from down under, yes, Australia. It offers a fine tooth, quick drying acrylic primer which bonds aggressively to practically any clean surface - all types of papers (300 gsm or heavier is recommended) canvas, matboard, illustration board, plastic, glass, wood, ceramic, metal, we even tested it on an encaustic painting with fantastic results! All colours are lightfast, permanent and non-toxic. Pastel Primer can be applied with brushes, sponges, rollers, etc, straight from the jar. We offer 16 colors as well as a clear primer. All colours can be intermixed to create new shades. White or clear can be tinted with acrylics such as Golden's Airbrush color or Fluid colors, liquid acrylic inks or even gouache for new color combinations. The Clear pastel primer allows the natural surface or underlying colors to remain visible while providing extra tooth for more colour overlays. These primers are great for mixed media techniques and experimental art. Review: Customizable grit! - I've been experimenting with this for a while and I really like it. First off, you can go back over it with a wet underpainting. I wasn't sure about this at first, but it held up for me with a watercolor underpainting. I like that you can adjust the texture to your preference. If you want a really rough, toothy texture apply it straight out of the jar with a large brush. If you want a more refined surface (which I prefer) mix the Colourfix with some water and apply it with a paint roller. The more water you add the finer the texture will be. This works great on watercolor paper! Review: Does the job - It applied easily and had a good tooth when dry.
