Rubies Costume Co Hooded Cape 3/4 Length Costume

I purchased this on sale for a little under nine dollars and I'm very happy with it for the price. I've had lot of capes like this, so I didn't have very high expectations for it. Compared to others I've had in the same price range (10-15 dollars), I actually much prefer this. It's made of a thinner material, but it's not quite as cheap feeling/looking and see through as others. The hood stays up okay, it fits nicely over the shoulders and it's made so that the strings don't tie across your neck, even when pulled as tight as possible. (I can't tell you how many Halloweens I've spent being choked by my cape...) I'm 5'2'' and this cape is about calf length on me. This would probably be floor length for most kids. I only wore it once before it tore, but it did get caught on something, so it is partly my fault.

It is perfect for costumes. big hood!! and super light and thing fabric. cheap but perfect. it doesn't go 3/4 length. it is long.. i read a few other reviews that mentioned it so look at dimensions if you're particular

I purchased this at the last minute to complete a Phantom of the Opera costume (I already had my own tuxedo from my senior prom), after searching through literally DOZENS of such capes on Amazon. There's a reason this one has the most positive reviews. Certainly, it suffices. However, there are a few things buyers might want to know: Firstly, the described length is deceiving. I suspect that the given measurement of 45 inches is made from the top of the hood down. The cape itself, measured from the seam at the neck down is approximately 38 inches, just a bit below my knees. This is a good length for me, but if you want something longer, go for the full-length version of this same cape; I suspect it will be of equal quality with more length. Secondly, any reports of the tie at the neck being too small for an adult neck are totally incorrect (there aren't actually any such reports on this particular cape, but such a complaint appeared frequently enough on other capes for me to note it here). In fact, when I tie it as tight as possible, joining both sides of the hood at the center of my neck, it is still quite loose. With the six or eight inches the tie adds, this cape could probably fit on Jabba the Hutt (okay, probably not Jabba the Hutt, but you get the idea). That's not to say it's too impossibly big, only that it will most certainly not be too small, provided you are a human or some other creature with proportions at least remotely similar to humans'. Thirdly, the hood is very large. this is actually a plus. it's not like the hood of an average hoodie or jacket, that fits just over the back of your head and no further. This hood has two options. The first is pictured: it fits over the back of your head with much excess hood hanging down looking creepy. The second is reminiscent of "Point of No Return" from the stage production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera." If you do not know how that looks, go to YouTube and search "phantom of the opera point of no return 25th anniversary" and you will see. This hood is big enough to cover the entire face in an eerie, mysterious manner. Finally, the cape is opaque enough not to complain, but transparent enough to see through it from the inside (and only from the inside) if you decide to cover your face with the hood. Overall, I'm not overly impressed with this cape, but I'm not at all disappointed either. I'd recommend it as a good option if you don't want to buy some ornate, costly cloak.

I absolutely LOVE it!! I'm 5ft and the cape reaches below my knees and about a foot or two off the ground. The hood is pretty big and deep as many people have described and tying it is simple and it does NOT choke you. I actually have plenty of space between my neck and the knot and can easily take it off without untying it having it tied to the max. The fabric seems durable and its defefinitely beyond worth its price. I've been wearing it every day since I got it (arrived on time(: ) and can't wait for Halloween^-^

The velcro designed to keep the good together around your neck came with two "hook" sides so it won't stick together. Other than that, it's fine.

I bought this to run in a 5k race and it worked well. Even in the wind, it didn't choke me. I wore it in the office, and people either hailed me as an emperor, or they thought I was a superhero with a cape. It will not keep you warm in a blizzard, but won't overheat you in the summer.

This would work as a 3/4 length cape for an adult, however, we used it as a vampire cape (full length) for a child who is 4'10" and it was calf length on him. The hood lays very nicely...perfectly spooky for a vampire and the price was right! The cape seems like it is well made, certainly well made enough for a young boy who is rough on clothes...probably not well made enough for every day use long term.

I bought this for my renaissance festival costume and I love it. Im 4”11 so it’s hard for me to find a cape that isn’t dragging the ground, this one went a little above my ankles, perfect. It’s a Halloween costume but it isn’t that cheap crappy material, it feels a bit stronger than that. It’s a little warm and it’s soft. Absolutely would recommend!!!

This is a great all-purpose costume cape. The fabric is quite lightweight but is fine for a costume, and the edges are finished off nicely. It's not quite wide enough to pull all the way around your chest, meaning it ties together fine at the neck, but it will drape open down the front, as the picture shows. Since it's advertised as a "cape" and not a "cloak", this isn't necessarily a problem, but if you want to be able to wrap it around yourself, you might want to look for something else.

This cape was exactly what I was looking for. Material is lightweight, not too thin. Great price, the hood hangs beautifully.

I liked it for my Halloween costume, but it kind of smelled like costume material.
