Works....but not as well as advertised
I purchased the Herdio HS-61B Speaker pair to use with a brand new Pioneer radio that I purchased for my Kawasaki Mule. I wired the speakers per the Herdio instructions (which were only accessible by the internet....none in the box) and the Pioneer radio instructions. I used new 16 ga. wiring and soldered all connections, using shrinkable insulation for the soldered wire connections. After installing radio/speakers I turned on the system and was disappointed with the response of the speakers. Even though the speakers tout bass, it has poor bass response and the sound becomes very distorted if too much bass is applied to the speakers. I cannot turn the Pioneer radio to full volume without the speakers becoming so distorted the sound can't be understood. As long as the volume is kept about 50% or less, the speakers are tolerable. The speakers are mounted under the roof of the Mule, so it isn't exposed to rain/direct sun. I just don't feel the speakers are what they are touted to be by the seller on Amazon! If you are planning to use these for a large area, it might not be the best speaker for this use!

Didn’t work for me
Hooked it up, never worked. I’ve done multiple subwoofers tweeters, and med range so I have a really good idea of what I’m doing. I’m not an so I have a really good idea of what I’m doing. I’m not a beginner. and they didn’t do anything at all they look absolutely gorgeous though if they worked, they would get five stars most likely

Nice and loud for my boat, not exactly the most crisp or boomy sound but considering the size I'm not surprised, installation was easy and overall quite pleased.
