This is a small handy device that nicely lets you know what is going on in the cables linking power supplies to tablets, phones etc. Even though USB-C is supposed to allow cables and connectors turned in either direction, so to speak, some items don't actually meet that spec, and this device quickly shows that to be the case and can help in sorting out how to turn the cables or connectors so that they work properly

Good: This supports up to 50V and 6.5A - currently, almost all other similar devices only support up to 24V and 5A. More than 20V or 5A from a USB-C power supply is very rare, almost all laptop USB-C adapters top out at 20V, for 100W or less. But some 140W adapters are just starting to appear (28V x 5A), and higher voltage is possible in the latest USB-C PD spec, and may come to exist in power adapters soon. Anyway, this Pluggable meter is ready for it. (I have one other usb meter which can measure up to 30V, but you need to supply it with power via another separate usb cable in that case, because over 24V is too high for it to use for its own power.) This Pluggable meter is super simple, just plug it between the power adapter and the device, there's a little side button to flip display orientation, that's it. The power usage of this meter itself is lower than my other usb power meters, by about half. It's about 6 mA to 8 mA (roughly 35 mW at 5v, or 160 mW at 20v ...) Bad: Only about 1 display update per second. My other USB power meters update the display about 4 times per second, so it's easier to see brief spikes of amps/watts being used. No features. This meter doesn't sum up mAh or mWh over time, can't trigger PD, doesn't have adjustable screen brightness or timeout, can't show voltage on data or CC wires (used by simpler charger protocols), etc. There are no other screens of info.

This is a very easy to use device that helps you to know how much power is being delivered over a USB C cable. Just plug one end into the device and plug your cable into the other end, and it instantly shows the voltage, current, and wattage being used. It also has a bold arrow that shows which direction the current is flowing, so if you plug this into a computer and plug a device into this meter, it will tell you whether the computer is being charged, or the computer is sending current to the device. You can use this to determine if your phone is fast charging or slow charging, and how much current is being used. A small button, when pressed, will change the orientation of the screen, PROS: * Small and easy to use * Easy to read with useful information * A button lets you change the screen orientation CONS: None Conclusion: Just get one - or two, or three. I keep them on the end of all of my charging cables.

I am really pleased with this power meter/tester and would highly recommend it. Its' high visibility display provides all the information I wanted while charging a device. The Volts, Amps, and Watts readings are bright and crystal clear. The side button mirrors the display when operating and flips it to make reading it very easy without moving the unit. Well done!

These power meters are an essential tool on my work bench. I repair laptops and the plugable meter is in constant use. I have 3 of them. One of them developed a problem with the shield, I contacted support and they sent me a new one free of charge. products and support are excellent!

I love this power meter, I use it all the time to measure the charge speed to/from various devices: laptops, power banks, displays, phones, etc. It's great at what it does, and being able to measure up to 48v means it can measure high power devices using the new USB PD 3.1 standard, which makes it relatively future proof. Customer support is also amazing. The housing on my first one broke, leaving it just barely useable. I emailed the company asking for a replacement and I received one in about a week. The The only two things I can really complain about are: 1 - the aforementioned case breakage. I do think the case is a little flimsy, and as I carry this power meter around everywhere, it takes a bit of a beating. 2 - The male side of the power meter is not long enough to make a full connection when plugging into a phone with a case on. Maybe a very thin case wouldn't cause any problems, but I often have to take the case off, or plug into the other side of the cable to make it work. There are versions of these testers where the male side is actually a short cable, which would solve the phone case problem. Again, these are only small gripes, and overall I'd recommend this product to anyone interested.

Does what it does but haven't checked accuracy against my other type A USB meter and plug in variable load module, but does show readings of what I would expect.

The perfect little device for the geek inside everyone. It tells the volts, amps, and watts with pretty good accuracy. I especially love how I can flip the display upside down at the push of a button. INCREDIBLY helpful!

The Plugable USB C Power Meter Tester seems quite accurate and easy to use. It’s not the most solid build but yet is still fairly solid. Nice size and having usb c in and out is handy. Also which is great is the screen flips if it upside down to you. If looking for one this will definitely serve the needs.
