Put these in my shoe boxes
I am a shoe, boot, sneaker freak. I have hundreds of pairs of footwear. I like to keep them in the original boxes, mostly boots and shoes. Ive been finding white mold on some of my things and a musty smell in others. Some of these i dont wear a lot so they are just sitting in my closet, till i decide to wear them. Ive bought these 2 times before and i needed more to put them in the shoes boxes i missed. I also like to put these in drawers with clothes or anything really. My home is on the damp side, i have lots of trees around. I think these help with the dampness. I also like this company. The packets are sturdy and filled right up. Others i have tried are not as sturdy, they probably work the same. If you've been finding your shoes, like some of mine, with white stuff or a musty smell, try these. You have to get that all off your shoes and clean the inside with a wipe or something similar. They have to be in good shape, these wont get rid of the smell or white mold thats already there, im hoping they keep it from returning. I have thousands of dollars invested in footwear, id like all of them to be ready to wear when i want to. Hope this story helps someone. So far im recommending these.

I use the 10 Gram Packet Size for medium-sized dry food storage containers
First - Be Sure To Heat Them BEFORE Each Use - In The Oven, as Directed - To Set Their Useful Dessicated Condition. The packets can be reheated and reused, so long as the packet is intact. I Find The 10 Gram Packets are the 'Goldilocks size' for my uses (1-2 L / 33 - 64 oz Airtight Food Storage Containers), and I put 2-3 packets into each food conainter. This combo works well for my needs.

Cheap insurance against moisture damage.
Dry & Dry gel packets are pretty-much the standard "go-to" for storing just about any kind of item that can be damaged by moisture. Perfect for storing camera gear, ammo, electronics, hunting/fishing gear, auto parts - just about anything you want to store and don't want to rust or corrode. Packets are available in different size/weight configurations, and the manufacturer has charts available to match the size of your storage container with the size of the packet(s) you should use for best protection. Obviously air-tight containers are preferred, but the packets will work in other uses - they'll just need to be recharged or replaced more often. However, even in air-tight containers they'll need to be checked and recharged or replaced from time to time.

Very pleased.
These little packets work very well. This is my second time purchasing. I use in anything that is stored as I live in the woods and there can be a lot of dampness when storing items.

These work well!
We're using these silica gel packets between window plastic and window panes to collect possible water vapour and prevent condensation of water between the two layers during the winter. They seem to work very well. For smaller windows, 1-2 packets is usually fine; for larger windows, 2-3 packets might be better. Also, if you have sliding windows or doors, you might want to have packets in each section of the window if the air pockets don't connect well between the two sections. Performance will also depend on how well your windows seal, and if you've managed to make your window plastic seal well, and how humid your indoor air is. If there are wrinkles in the plastic at the tape line, there will be a way for water vapour to get in and condense on your window. If you're running a humidifier over the winter, I'd suggest doing your installations before you start humidifying. If you notice that you eventually get condensation, it will be time to recharge the beads (see instructions). I would guess that you will get at least a winter's worth of time from these packets, without having to recharge them. I've used similar ones in previous years, and they were still going strong after a year. Again, performance will also depend on how good a seal you have, and how moist your air was when you installed them.I only gave 3 points for "sheerness" because you can sort of see through the material if the packets are backlit, but the packets are not really see-through. It doesn't really matter though, because these silica beads are not coloured and don't change colour over time. Note that these silica gel packets are not meant for use with food. For food-grade packets, see the wisedry packets: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01MPYB16J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
