Amazing for backpacking
Cannot say enough good things honestly. I have 2 and have taken them backpacking 3 times now. I have the short of the 5 and the 20. They are fairly light (enough that I can still consider my pack ulta light without spending the big bucks on a bag). Very sturdy and warm. I love the 5 for mountain weather because you never know how cold it will get. I take mine out of the sack and put it in a waterproof stuff sack for the back country and it compresses pretty good. The only change I would make is that I wish they made a little bit smaller one because it’s still a touch long on me at 5’1 and that can allow a cold air pocket at my feet.

Warm, plush, great 'bang for your buck' purchase
First, I bought this for my 1yr+ backpacking across Australia with the 462 visa. I chose this because of the price, weight, comfort and temp rating. I've used this camping once and it is currently my bedding at the place I'm working at. When camping the night was chilly and it was raining when me and my friends got there, the tent I borrowed didn't have a footprint (the tarp under the tent) so rain was seeping in through the ground a little. To lessen this I laid my hammock under my sleeping bag so my sleeping bag wouldn't get soaked. I got nessled in my sleeping bag and due to the long day I was out like a light. Not once did I wake up from being cold (which I do even at home so that was surprising), from the rain getting in my bag or from getting knotted up in the sleeping bag. Next morning I was well rested, most of my friends had woken up cold apparently even though they had their boyfriend/girlfriend with them to keep warm. The tent in the morning on the inside did have a bit of dampness to it but this bag wasn't wet inside at all. Here at the farm I'm working at I get accommodations but my bed is a mattress on the floor, no bedding. Nothing fancy. I'm not about to buy bedr8nt for my 6 week stay here that I don't have space to carry around so I use this. It's so comfortable! Very plus feeling about it. Because it's the desert I do occasionally wake up warm but I'm not sleep sweating so idc. I got the scout sized because I stand just shy of 5'3 and didn't want the extra weight and bulk of an adult sized sleeping bag if I didn't need the extra space. As for build I'm more of the hour glass figure and about 140lbs if you're wondering "ok, my height is good, hut what about hips and bust" I'm 34 across the bust but I think someone weighing about 160 at my height could fit depending on the curves going on. All and all, I love this sleeping bag and glad I chose it. I secure it to the outside of my backpack along with my hammock system, it's great.

One of the best light-weight sleeping bags
As an eagle scout I've used a lot of sleeping bags and for the price this one does a great job at being lightweight and small as well as keeping you warm. It's not the top of the market on warmth, but does a very good job. It's comfortable as well. It may be a little small for large or tall people, but for the average person the size should be sufficient.

IT'S WARM, LIGHTWEIGHT, EASY TO COMPRESS, AND AFFORDABLE -- GREAT BUY!
I searched long and hard to find a small, lightweight, and warm sleeping bag for my 11-year old son, and selected this one. He was about to go on a backpack camping trip into the San Gabriel Mountains near Los Angeles, where the overnight temperature would fall to 40-degrees F. REI offers bags that meet those specifications, but their prices START at $230 for something suitable. I shopped to find a more affordable, but equally suitable, option. I selected this one -- the warmth rating was appropriate (he will be doing snow camping this winter), and it is lighter than most -- about 3 1/2 pounds. By sitting on it during packing, it can be compressed into a reasonably compact size. I should point out that I also chose the "Scout" option, which is 73-inches long, instead of the "Adult" size, 84-inches. My son is under 5-feet, and I didn't want to burden him carrying anything he wouldn't need! Here's the report after his first trip with this bag: it worked perfectly. He said he was very warm and comfortable, he slept soundly without a problem, and he was able to stuff it back into the compression sack by himself, and put it into his backpack for the hike out of the mountains. We give it two thumbs up.

Pretty damn good!
I got the chance to test out this sleeping bag on a September Iceland trip in different conditions: - camping in a tent, 40s to low 50 F, mostly clear weather: approved, kept me warm and relatively comfortable for the night - camping in a tent, 30s-low 40 F, rainy, windy weather: too cold to sleep, kept waking up in the middle of the night - car camping, 30s F, rainy, windy weather: cozy and comfortable - camping in a tent, 30s to low 40 F, clear weather: actually relatively comfortable for most of the night If the weather drops below 40 F, wrap yourself up in real tight. Of course, for particularly bad weather, try to insulate your tent as best as possible. Note that I always sleep with earplugs and an eye mask, so this review is just for how warm I felt. For the price and for an amateur camper like myself who dived headfirst into particularly harsh camping conditions, the sleeping bag served me well. Note that I'm a female, 5'5, 110 lbs who used a scout sized sleeping bag (it could def fit someone around 5'6 too, and probably 20-30 lbs heavier). I also grew up and live in hot, dry climate, so I get cold pretty easily. This wasn't the easiest thing to compress, esp. if you have to pack up every night, but I got it down to about 10 in wide x 12 in tall with some effort. It fit into my carry-on pretty easily at about 4 lbs.

Decent cheap bag, but not for winter
I purchased the 5-degree Short bag. I am 5'7" and skinny, and I do tend to sleep cold. I fit the bag well enough, but I would be at the upper height limit. The construction seemed fairly durable, with heavier facing fabrics that should hold up well to kids, teens or not-particularly-careful adults. While it compresses reasonably well for a cheap synthetic bag, the +5F rating is rather misleading. On Teton Sports' website (but not in the Amazon listing) they do state that that temperature approximates the "extreme" rating of the bag, but that the comfort level is at a higher temperature. My experience using the bag was backpacking with overnight lows in the mid- to lower-30s, and I was still chilly even after adding layers, sleeping on an R4 pad. Teton does not appear to use standardized EN/ISO testing methods, but I would guess that the usual "limit rating" (for warm sleepers) would be around 30 degrees, with the "comfort rating" (for cold sleepers) being closer to 40-45 degrees. Teton would probably be better served by a quick relabeling to +5C (not F), but in that range there are much lighter bags for not much more money. Even Teton's own Leef 0F Short model costs only a little more and is not much heavier than this bag. It is considerably bulkier, but that is because it has noticeably more insulation, and it kept my son comfortable on the same trip when I was cold in the Tracker. It's surprising to me that the two bags are listed as only 5 degrees apart by Teton. Still, for less than $45 on a deal, the Tracker isn't a horrible option if money is tight and its true temperature limits are taken into account.

Great sleeping bag - comfortably warm at 30 degrees
I ordered the junior size sleeping bag for my 10-year-old son to use on a recent camping trip. I knew the nighttime temperature was going to be down to 30 degrees or so and this bag kept him warm with him sleeping in shorts and a t-shirt. Keep in mind, that most temperature ratings on sleeping bags are an absolute minimum rating that should keep you from freezing to death at the listed temp, but that the actual comfort rating is often 15-20 degrees higher. In other words, I expected this 5-degree bag would keep him comfortably warm down to around 20-25 degrees and it seems to have done the job. The bag is also surprisingly light and packable for a lower priced synthetic-fill bag. The compression stuff sack is reasonably good quality, but doesn’t seem super durable. The zipper seems to work smoothly and there is even an added Velcro tab near the opening to help keep the zipper closed while sleeping.

I bought 2 of these. we went camping in October. it got down to 30 at night and my little one was nice and toasty in his sleeping bag. I had a zero-degree bag from another company and was shaking.

Really like the feel of the inside lining - but not a real durable sleeping bag
Things I liked about this sleeping bag especially is the inside lining is not made of the slippery sticky vinyl sort of material most sleeping bags are made of. The inside lining has more of a soft fabric feel too it without making the sleeping bag too bulky. Not super bulky. I haven’t been impressed with how durable it is though. It’s only been through the wash twice now and the zipper is starting to come unsewn from the sleeping bag and one of the velcro tags has come off. We haven’t had a chance to test it in the cooler outdoors so I’m not sure how to rate it for warmth.

The bag has got a fan.
Warmth: So warm at 4C! Haven't tested lower. Don't try this indoors or run the risk of overheating. Full size: I'm 5'2" and the scout fits me quite perfectly. I would like a bit more wiggle room in both length and width, but what can I say. It's a mummy bag--more for compactness than room. Bag size: Compressed properly (loosen the strings a lot, snap the buckles and then pull the strings), it's satisfyingly small.
