74 years old and love it - Update #1
I'm 74 and decided to take up playing a Saxophone. Never played anything before. Taking lessons, put together first time at lesson. The instructor said was perfect for what I want, will last me a long time. There was no need for me to buy a more expensive one at this time. While putting neck into horn, he said was built very well, nice tight fit. Only thing I did after reading reviews I replaced the mouthpiece with a Clark W Fobes Debut Student mouthpiece. Several reviewers said the mouthpiece that came with it wasn't any good and Fobes was recommend for beginners and students. Within 5 minutes after starting to blow, I was blowing notes. I have been playing it now for 4 days and love it. I can't stay away from it. My wife is starting to get upset with me.Update #1Had Sax for little over week now and still love it. While trying to clean inside neck with handkerchief, it got snagged on a burr that was left when they drilled a hole on top. I was able to break the burr, but a little of the burr still sticks down. The handkerchief snags when pulling only from one direction.Emailed seller, MusicStore4You, from Amazon site. They got back to me within two hours. They wanted me to send in neck to see if they could repair, said I didn't want to be without Sax that lone. Then told me to get hold of Amazon for replacement, that would be the fastest way of getting another. I decided just keeping the neck and live with only being able to pull handkerchief one way.In all, I emailed at least three times and each time they replied within a few hours.I'm very happy with their Customer Service and would recommend this Sax. If I keep learning, I'm sure then that the day will come I will want a more expensive one, but right now this is great for me.After emailing MusicStore4You, Amazon also sent me an email to see if problem was resolved - Great that Amazon follows up.

Don't let the price fool you.
I'm not an expert, but I've played a while and I own a variety of saxophones. I currently own 2 baritones, 2 tenors, with this purchase 3 altos, 1 curved soprano and 2 Roland Aerophones. I was looking for a less expensive alto to replace another one. I've tried multiple lower end saxophones (Glory, Mendini, Ammoon, etc.,) but I was really surprised by this horn. The first surprise was the weight. I expected it to be thin metal and almost weightless, that it actually feels significant. I'm not sure what some of the reviews were referring to because the tone straight out of the case sounds great; and that's with the mouthpiece it came with. As far as pitch, I've tried songs with heavy vibrato, I've done extreme bending, it response to runs between octaves well. I've ordered a Yamaha Alto Sax Mouthpiece 4C mouthpiece to pair with it so I'll see how that sounds when it arrives tomorrow. The key action definitely rivals some of the more expensive horns. Let's be clear it's not a pro horn but it's not a super cheapie either. I'm pleased with the purchase. As far as durability I will have to see since I've owned it less than a week. The biggest thing I can see right now is better keep the cork greased, as they did skimp on that a little. Hence no room error on maintaining it since it pretty thin.

Just because its not name brand doesn't mean it sucks.
Okay, before I start talkin' I gotta say that I've been playing Baritone Sax for years. I messed around with alto and tenor sax and I was a marching bari for my marching band. With that said, the saxophone it self IS GREAT...change the mouth peice and reeds and case. Yeah, change everything, but the sax. I'm not too big on flash, like red or purple saxes, but I got the silver and gold alto. Now, sure its no Yanagisawa or Canon Ball, but its a great sax. Forget about the price, geese honestly you'd wanna be paying for the instrument, not the name. This would've gotten 5 stars, but I rate things as a whole. Throw away the mouth peice, reeds, ligature, keep the case as a last resort. But the sax, Oohhhh mmaaannn this sax can SCREAM. As a jazz and concert performer, man this sax is great for growling and screaming. All in all, as a musician think about it. Don't think about the prices or common word of mouth. These saxes are at the very least, worth trying.I mean really guys, the instrument can only be as good as it's player. I say that with confidence. Why?Well, when you're in a financially poor marching band that has instruments with air leaks, bent rods, ripped pads, and all the shine aged off-And you still get good tone. Its not always the instrument, besides don't trash something that isn't popular. Think about this one.

Not great
The media could not be loaded. ย The product came with no corks under the keys to protect them during transit . As a result a screw fell out of the keys and I could not find it .I played it and it blows reasonably well apart from the damaged key . I returned the sax immediately.
