On their website Unived claims that the RYR supplement is "RYR has no known side effects.", and that it is - "Safe for regular consumption.". I have elevated LDL and ApoB levels and so I decided to give RYR a shot late last year 2023. I gave 2 tries at using the supplement. The first time I started the supplement use at half the dosage for the first 3-4 days to see how my body tolerated the supplement and it was ok. I didn't see any issues. So I started using the recommended dosage and continued that for the next 3-4 days. But as the days progressed I started having serious side effects. Everything from occasional dizziness, to feeling sick as if I had a massive flu, muscle pain, significant fatigue and last but surely not the least some sleep issues too. I right away discontinued the supplement and the side effects went away. I decided to ignore this thinking that I may have messed up a workout by overtraining and perhaps was facing serious DOMS and flu like symptoms. I waited for about 8-10 weeks and I decided to give RYR another shot. I followed the same protocol and by 7th or 8th day I felt like a train wreck. Unusual fatigue, muscle pain, flu like symptoms again. I decided to persist and the symptoms worsened to a point that I was sleeping nearly all day long. I decided to discontinue the supplement and within 2-3 days I was back to normal as if nothing had happened. I decided to do a deeper dive into research on RYR and it does seem to be a legit supplement at lowering LDL/ApoB through perhaps Moncolin-K the main active ingredient. However, it is not as side effect free as claimed by the company - which is my main reason for giving it a low rating and writing this review. I found many published case studies where RYR supplement was responsible for similar symptom eventually causing serious liver damage. The cases are rare, but they do exist. I feel the company needs to remove the statement - "side effect free". That is inaccurate representation. And to everyone looking at wanting to try RYR - no harm in trying out, but be careful. If you see serious side effects out of the blue - discontinue. Most likely RYR is not for you. Given the main ingredients chemical structure being similar to statins there is a good chance that one could face statin like side effects. I personally won't be trying out RYR again. Unived is a great band, my family and I use many of their products - but I feel the representation and marketing of this product needs to change. There needs to be some highlight of the rare side effects that can happen.
